Emilio's – Italian Restaurant & Pizzeria in Commack NY is a hit or miss experience. The food is almost always good, with favorites including the salad slice, rice balls, grandma, and Sicilian. The panini was delicious, and the cooks hand-toss the pizza crust, which is a sight to see. A chicken parm dinner and a chicken francese dinner were both outrageous in flavor and amount. However, service can be careless, likely because the restaurant is usually too busy. One visit charged 15 bucks for oil and garlic pasta when a kid size was requested on the phone, and creamy Italian dressing was received as balsamic. Despite this, first-time visitors are seriously impressed by the welcoming staff and attentive service. Takeout is just as good as dining-in. Mid-day is recommended for comfort and service.
