The staff was kind and friendly. The restaurant was clean and cozy. The reason for the low rating is because their empanadas are super salty. This was my second time picking up food from them. The first time I ordered the empanadas last year, they were very salty. I thought I would give them another try since we like supporting local small businesses. Really good guava and cream cheese empanada, bitter apple caramel empanada, churro is good too but was the incorrect one from the one I ordered. Guava cheese empanada was overfried resulting in over burnt shell of half of the empanada

Great empanada place, really. The thing is, I feel that for the price of each empanada (about $3-$4), the filling isn't completely filled up and I do believe they are a bit small. The flavors are wonderful, but I wish there was just more of it. Otherwise, I like Island Empanada. :) Oh, and I recommend the spinach and feta, broccoli and cheese, or loaded potato empanada! Those are what I usually get :)
