“Even though our son is a professional chef and we think of ourselves as "foodies," we have only limited experience with Caribbean cuisine. That's going to change, because we will absolutely go back to Taino's to explore more of the menu. We went around 6-ish on a Monday night to celebrate my birthday, and the only other patrons were at the bar. They appeared to be regulars, and the vibe was warm and casual. Coconut shrimp is one of my guilty pleasures and I order it every time I see it on a menu. Tainos' was quite possibly the best I've ever had: enormous shrimp coated in batter and flaked coconut, fried to crispy perfection and served with a to-die-for coconut dipping sauce. I'm also a skirt steak junkie, so ordered the Churrasco al la Parrilla which is served with a large serving of rice, bowl of red beans and chimichurri sauce, all presented beautifully, complete with an orchid. I was so full from the shrimp, I took nearly all of my entree home. Our lovely waitress (also the bartender) packed up my leftovers so they were just as attractive and appetizing the next day. Everything, including the steak, reheated perfectly. Granted, at my age I have a small appetite, but I'll be finishing the second (!) half of my steak, rice and beans tonight (night #3). Our son ordered the chicken Canasta de Platano (plantain 'baskets') appetizer and grudgingly gave me only a tiny (delicious) taste. Husband ordered fried cheese, and ate a whole piece even before I could take a photo. Again, I was allowed only one bite, but know I'll order my own the next time we're there. He also ordered the skirt steak, but our son tried the Colombian platter (steak, avocado, pork cracklings, fried egg, rice and more), which he loved. He gave me the sweet corn cakes which I devoured. Can't wait to try "mofungo," which seems to be a signature dish. The oxtails look fabulous, too.“

“Right Coast tacos are delicious! They always hit the spot! I really love that they offer 3 mix & match tacos, which allows you to try all of their yummy choices! I enjoy the carne asada or the Birria, they are all GREAT! And don't forget to try their Nachos!!!“

“My fiancee and I have been going to Northern Coast since shortly after it opened, and it never disappoints. This place is the definition of a "hidden gem", being in the lobby at the Hilton Garden Inn on the Stony Brook campus (you don't need to be a student to go, but students get a discount IIRC). Although it's right adjacent to the lobby with little separation, it's much more than your standard hotel eatery with lots of great New American dishes and a warm, comfortable, unique atmosphere.I've tried several dinner items, and all have been great so far, with reasonable prices, sizeable portions, good variety of styles, all fresh-tasting and "made to order". But, if there's one thing I always go back to, it's the roasted chicken. The skin is so crispy and it has a buttery au-jus that's just divine. It comes with some sauteed string beans that are sweet and flavorful as well. I'd also like to mention the pork chops, brussels sprouts, and the peach melba dessert as well.The service never disappoints, and at least when we went, the vibe of the place is calm and quiet (even with being next to the hotel's front desk). I dig the melodic chill/deep house from the hotel lobby, and I also love the style of the place, it's got a clean, colorful look that feels very "90s tropical". Screens are around that rotate through pictures of the food items. We usually eat there pretty late (it's refreshing finding a place that will stay open till 10PM), so I could imagine this place gets a lot busier and noisier at other times (like around college orientation/graduation, or brunch).I love this place and think it's a great addition to the area. Definitely give it a chance if you're in town!“

“I can’t say enough good things about this restaurant! For two weekends in a row I’ve chosen this restaurant to celebrate birthdays for family and friends. The food is phenomenal and our bartender Gio was fantastic. He was attentive, kind, and had drinks for us before we even asked for them. Highly, highly recommend!“

“Hands down the best New England clam chowder I’ve ever had. Lobster bisque was also exceptional. The crab cakes were also delicious.It was our first time stopping here and definitely won’t be the last.What really stood out was the service. “Excellent food and service. I had steak tostadas and a chicken empanada (so much food!) and my sister had fish tacos.We are there and the atmosphere is cheerful and so clean! Our server (I didn't get her name) was attentive yet not overbearing.I will absolutely be back.“

“If you were looking for a random new spot, this is it. My chicken gyro was great, and the man does skip out on ingredients for the low cost and better than other spots that charge more. The steak taco was perfectly seasoned and cooked (not over or under). I've been to more expensive places with worse quality for the price. You can't beat it. Great guy, multilingual! “This taco truck is worth checking out. Even though they opened about 20 minutes later than posted and I didn't care for the beeper waiting system, the food was excellent for a low price. Stop by and try some!Vegetarian options: None that I was aware of.Parking: It's a tiny, shared lot. There's not really a shoulder on that spot of Route 112 either.“

“I have start out by saying I was upset when the old Mexican food place closed in the mall. But now that Los Amigos is here in the food court...I am fulfilled once again with something so much better! I had the steak tacos and wow these rival some of the best taco places I have been to. Do they cost a little more...yes. Are they worth $10 for 2 tacos...yes...yes! Just look at what you get fresh steak, taste Guacamole, fresh real cheese, crisp lettuce, topped with sour cream. All in a nice corn tortilla that stays together down to the last bite! Go get some of this fantastic food! And wash it down with an old fashioned Coke.Dietary restrictions: I am gluten sensitive and had no reaction to taco ingredients.“

“This place was great! Had a party to attend there, the food came out family style, appetizers were crispy and fresh, Caesar Salad, Fried Calamari, Mozzarella sticks, baked clams, fried Zucchini. Then lunch choices, Shrimp Scampi, Eggplant Rollatini & Chicken Piccata. Everything brought out was so delicious and well done, the pasta was not overcooked, the sauce was savory. I would recommend this place to anyone who was looking for a delicious meal at reasonable price!“

“Ordered via UberEats, got the cheese jalapeno pupusas and bean pupusas, veggie burrito and shrimp wrap for my Pops. Pops loved the wrap and Maranon drinks were yummy!! I wish the veggie burrito was tastier but it just tasted...healthy not savory. Also, I did get a bad case of diarrhea BUT I think that was just my body reacting to the jalapeno and sweet Maranon juice mixed together. Won't do that again lol I'll b back for the taco salad cuz I missed that one!!“

“It's one of those hole in the wall places you just go for the food. The best tacos we have had since leaving Southern California . It is a small Deli, counter serve style with 3 tables to sit.The food was excellent. The tacos, quesadilla, and Papusas everything was freshly prepared and hot. The meats are succulent and juicy.It's not very cheap, but the quality and taste of the food are well worth it.“

“This deli is from a Salvadoran family. They sell many of the things they sell at ESA, including some medications, cookies, coffee, etc.The food is also of the day, there is a wide variety of typical dishes such as: pupusas, French fries with their dressings, canoes, typical breakfasts, they also have shrimp ceviche and other dishes.Here they speak English and Spanish, but the latter comes out more.Regarding parking, there are several for all the premises of the small shopping center.The pupusas are made fresh, so you will have to wait a few minutes for the orders.This place also offers you to prepare food for any event you want to hold.I recommend the coconut soda, it is very good.“

“Great service. Really nice vibe, and incredible food. The energy in the place is like a modern day brewery made for millennials and the food is absolutely phenomenal. We had the special of the hot honey vodka pizza and it was probably the best pizza I’ve ever had. The owner did a great job at creating this place and the menu to go with it.“

“I had my 60th Birthday party at Baja Boathouse. We planned it back when it was Off Key Tiki but the new owners went far above and beyond my expectations for this event. My wife did an amazing job of planning and follow-up up with the Baja Boathouse team who worked so hard to make this special.We had about 60 people - we had it on the elevated deck outside. It was a beautiful Saturday afternoon and all the folks at Baja Boathouse, especially Alex and her team made this such a memorable event. They worked their butts off and everything they did turned out absolutely wonderful. Weeks later people are still telling me how great of a party this was.We started the party with an unlimited bar package and passed trays of Hors d'oeuvres; then opted for and the Clam Bake option and added some meat & chicken skewers. The food was outstanding. The service was outstanding. The entire vibe was outstanding, and it was so not-your-usual party.I would do this again in a heartbeat. The regular dining menu is quite varied and the food is outstanding.Baja Boathouse is a great place to go for a lunch or diner, but if you are having any kind of a party this IS the place you want to do it. You aren't going to have a single regret - just a great time!A great team (and a great wife) and friends and family made this an extremely wonderful day.Vegetarian options: They had vegetarian options too!Kid-friendliness: Nice play area and a stage!“
