Empire Bagels

Ever been to a bagel store that doesn't make bagels? Welcome to Empire. Sold out on Fathers Day by 10 am. Same Mothers Day. And out of certain bagel types many Sundays in between. Hmm maybe make more bagels??? There's another bagel place in Katonah that has the smarts to make bagels through the morning. I won't mention the name because I don't want you thinking this is an ad. It's not, just a disgusted patron who will never go back to Empire and its empty bagel bins. Pathetic.

We live a town over but we buy bagels from here. We don't even toast them. Pop in microwave for 15 seconds, and life is good. Chewy, and soft -- my 5 year old bites into it and it tears apart perfectly. Empire bagels rock the hard party. If you've tried them you know. If you haven't, please try them. They are so worth the experience. Also, the side order of bacon is a great shortcut - they crisp it perfectly. At $3.75/serving it's worth it so the house doesn't smell like bacon.

They make good bagels, probably the best in the area that I have found. The reason I'm only giving them 4 stars and my main complaint is, they only put seeds on half the bagel. What in the world is that nonsense??? I'm and everything bagel person and that's fine for an egg sandwich, but from time to time I like just a toasted and buttered bagel. You cut a bagel in half, toast it and butter it, the top half tastes great, but the bottom half might as well be a plain bagel. How much...read full review
