Chen Mommy Kitchen Reviews
A++. This was a lifesaver for us. Tasty, healthy food at a reasonable price (esp given how much they give, and getting it delivered to your doorstep). There were a few bouts of miscommunication, but they handled it super quickly and professionally. We liked it so much that we continued for a second month, and are likely going to go with a third soon, after we finish up all the frozen soups from leftovers we couldn't finish. (The volume of food was that much - and we were both...read full review
Would really recommend to anyone. Saved me and a husband a ton of time and energy for not having to cook healthy meals or buy groceries after our baby arrived. The meals are delicious and logically planned with the phases of your body's recovery. I felt pretty healthy the first month and did not have stool problems.
Could try the tasting to see if you like the Taiwanese style food.

Very pleased with Chen mommy for postpartum meals. The food is fresh delivered almost every day, nutritious, and not oily. Excellent service and the team is extremely well organized - there’s some degree of customization and the order is always correct. Delivery driver is also very pleasant. Highly recommended

Chen Mommy Kitchen is a trusted restaurant that provides delicious, thoughtful, and nutritious meals, ideal for mothers in postpartum recovery. The owner, Ms. Jane Chow, is very helpful, attentive, and professional, always catering to her customers’ needs.
The menu includes a variety of dishes such as chicken soup (雞湯), sesame oil chicken soup (烏骨麻油雞湯), sweet and sour pork, spinach with goji berries, and a white fungus (白木耳) dessert, all served with mixed grain rice. Customers appreciate that the meals are cooked with care and do not cut corners to make higher profits. Many reviews mention the food reminds them of Taiwanese home cooking, with some dishes like vegetable dishes and desserts being favorites. The meals come in plastic containers, which some customers hope could be replaced with bento boxes to reduce waste.
The restaurant offers flexible postpartum meal plans, which customers find very helpful, especially during the busy first month after childbirth. They often request to skip a few days or adjust the number of soup dishes, and the restaurant accommodates these changes. Delivery is usually free within most NYC areas, though delivery from Flushing to other parts of the city can be inconsistent in timing, sometimes arriving later than expected. Customers are usually informed about a delivery window around 9-10am, but sometimes deliveries come closer to noon.
The staff is responsive, and drivers either call or text upon delivery. The meals are designed to be oil and salt-reduced for health, though some customers add seasoning once they start feeling more recovered. Portions are large, and the variety is good enough to cover a week, but over time, some find the dishes can become repetitive. The quality of meat varies, but the vegetable options are consistently appreciated, along with desserts.
Overall, Chen Mommy Kitchen offers a reliable service that reduces the stress of meal planning during postpartum, especially when caring for a newborn. It is a great choice for those who want nutritious, home-style meals without the hassle of cooking, making it highly recommended for new mothers focusing on their recovery.
