“The food is super super amazing. I forgot to take pics but the food was brilliant. We were given ample cutlery. We got the channa masala which was super authentic in terms of Pakistani taste. It just tasted like Lahori channay. We also got chicken tikka (7 pieces for $6) which was also amazing. The roti was also the best. Overall, the place is the best for food.
If there is any improvement, it’ll be that the environment and drapes should be changed to bring in natural light a little bit.
Overall for food, it is 10/10“

“Sunshine Restaurant in Hicksville on 530 Old Country Rd is one of the Best and Most convenient place to dine in with family and friends. Food we ordered was Super Delicious. We feel that this restaurant has the Best food in Hicksville Area. Every item we ordered was fresh and d mouth watering. Prices are very reasonable and staff is very friendly always ready to help. This place is great for party and small family functions. Their catering service are excellent. I recommend all my friends and family to visit this restaurant, you will not regret it. “Came here for some authentic Bengali food. Loved the food here. Everyone was very hospitable. The food was very expensive for what you get. Pricing is a little ambiguous since there’s no upfront prices once you walk in and if you order the food on the display. We paid over a $100 for everything on the picture but taste was good.“

This restaurant and its owner are a breath of fresh air, in an area where most of the desi restaurants take advantage of their customers with sub-quality food and poor customer service. May look like a small restaurant, but they set a high standard. I visited this place after being recommended by a friend, and the experience lived up to the hype. I tried their Nihari, Haleem, Chanay, Naan and Kheer. Everything was top quality. And to top it, the owner was very courteous. I will also be recommending them for catering services“

“for me, this is the peak of pakistani food in new york. it feels like a proper, home-cooked meal, made with love and skill. they have a rotating set of dishes, so each visit is an opportunity to try something new instead of re-ordering the same thing. each of their dishes has a unique flavor profile as opposed to a lot of desi places which copy and paste the same masala.

the people here are lovely. they’re friendly and offer recommendations. the elder gentleman working the tandoor must have magic hands because every naan i’ve had is the right mix of fluffy and crisp textures (and he always offers a warm smile when i visit). i love their chicken salan, chana masala, and shami kebabs. last time, i had a goat and karela dish that was delicious. their kheer is the best i’ve had anywhere. chai is good too. anytime i’m in the area, my dinner plan is aman’s.“

“Love this place. The staff is great and the food is very tasty. There are alot of restaurants that cook Pakistani food, but this one always hits home and reminds me of Pakistan. I love their parathas.

I see many comments that are negative and would like to remind people that fresh food takes time. If a restaurant takes 2 minutes to hot your food - it’s most likely being microwaved lol.“

“Was in the area to pick up some groceries and ventured into this local Indian restaurant that offered vegetable and protein food items. Ordered a samosa chat, two extra potato samosas, chicken kebabs, and chicken tikka masala. The chicken breast chunks were very tender in the tikka masala sauce, and the chicken kebabs were delicious.“
