It was made of sheets of chewy meringue loaded with crunchy cashew nuts, alternating with thick layers of “melt-in-your mouth” buttercream. Glad it was not too sweet that I was able to enjoy large servings of this delightful dessert. Great with coffee or tea.“

I was looking to order a cake for a birthday, and I was impressed by their photos on Instagram as well as the flavor of the slices they had for sale (one of which I received as a gift). The cappuccino was a little piece of heaven, the desserts were just a tad sinful, and the whole experience felt like a visit to the Holy Chapel of buttercream and chocolate.

“Amy is so talented! I ordered a cake for my daughter's surprise proposal/engagement party. I ordered a tasting for pickup and received four beautiful mini cakes. All four were so delicious that it was hard to decide. After a few bites of each, my mom and I definitely loved the almond cake. We ordered a two-tier cake with stunning floral decorations. My daughter and her fiancé were so pleased and their guests all commented on how delicious the cake was. Amy was a pleasure to work with. “I was referred here by a friend and this place is seriously a 10/10. From the moment I called and told them I needed a cake within 24 hours, they were super friendly, professional, and helpful. I sent over a photo and explained what I wanted, and they nailed it.

I ordered the Mochaccino flavor, and it was honestly a 10/10. So good. I even traveled all the way from Manhattan because the price, customer service, design, and taste were totally worth it.

“Man… this is one of the best businesses in existence. I’ve gotten various cakes from them over the years , and every single time they have been consistently delicious, rich, and exuberant. The tres leches is not too sweet, and the frosting complements the cake as well. It’s overall a very well rounded cake.

The service is spectacular as well — they can prepare an order for you in no time, and will decorate it and ensure that it is beautiful. All the while being as friendly as possible.

And the price, is more than fair.

“Layers Bakeshop is hands down my favorite bakery. The first time I ever had Layers was actually in Pakistan, so it already held a special place for me. Later on, a close friend introduced me to the U.S. locations and fun fact, she and her brother actually own the franchise. They’ve truly done an amazing job with every store so far.

I’ve been to about three Layers locations, and while the Elmont Layers Bakeshop location is the smallest one, it’s also the closest to me, which makes it my go-to. The quality, presentation, and consistency are always on point.

Honestly, I love almost everything from this bakery, but right now my absolute favorite is anything Lotus-flavored you really can’t go wrong with it. The desserts are rich, balanced, and never disappoint.

I also noticed they’ve started making candles, which is such a smart and creative addition to the brand. It just shows how much thought they put into expanding beyond desserts while keeping the same aesthetic and quality.

If you haven’t tried Layers yet, you’re seriously missing out. Highly recommend stopping by especially the Elmont location if you’re nearby.“

The ice cream is amazing though. And they piled that stuff on. I couldn't finish it and it took me half an hour to even get halfway through it.
I ordered a small vanilla cup with no toppings.
It's far cheaper than Cold Stone Creamery and almost has the same aspects.
If you loved Mr. Softee's ice cream growing up, those ice cream trucks always going around the block, than this ice cream is for you.“

The place is clean and well decorated, and during the holidays they have the most delicious festive desserts. During thanksgiving me and my family bought a delicious pumpkin pie, it wasn’t tooth ache sweet, but rather had many flavor profiles that was enhanced by a bit of sweetness. Their cookies are the best i have had so far, once again not too sweet, but rather enhanced by the extra flavors on top. And just the other day i bought a blueberry puff pastry, it was absolutely delicious, the crunchy texture on the top, the buttery fluffy puff pastry and the blueberry sweet filling. I would definitely recommend trying small businesses such as Cookies and Cream Pastry shop over any bigger chain. You can see the care they put into their products and business. the quality, the aesthetics, the taste of the product is absolutely outstanding. The staff are very sweet as well, taking the time to greet every customer, and allowing you to decide on what you want without rush. Definitely recommend this place!!“

“I frequent this location often with my children because my toddler LOVES their pistachio ice cream. She convinced me to try it and it really is that good. My favorite from this store is the coffee ice cream. Hits everytime. The store is very small but always looks clean. There’s not much organization when it comes to the line so they usually just ask “who’s next”. All workers that I’ve interacted with have been pleasant. I’ve never had a negative interaction with a worker so I’d say their customer service is great.

Parking: A lot of people double park. It’s paid metered parking and spots are usually taken.“

“For my daughter's sweet 16, she insisted on a specific cake in a specific color and size. NYC Birthday Cakes made her dream come true! The order process was extremely easy and I was able to provide a swatch so that they could match the color as best as possible. (color matching fondant is not easy - I've made cakes myself but didn't have the time now) We only had 40 people and 4 layers (6:, 8", 10" & 12") would have been too much cake. So, they made the top layer and bottom layer with a cake form instead of cake. The two middle layers were red velvet with cream cheese frosting and the vanilla with chocolate mousse. They were absolutely delicious!! The cake was delivered to the venue on time and as promised. These are truly professionals and I strongly recommend them to anyone looking for a special cake! (FYI - we bought the topper on our own)“
