“We can’t recommend Pioneer Cafe enough! The staff is so incredibly friendly, they all work together and you’re always well taken care of! They never stop smiling and they make you feel like family! Not to mention the FOOD! Everything incredible. Home made, real good food! The sweet treats and all! (Those raspberry danishes though 🤤) We love going here on our snowmobiles and they welcome us Everytime!”

“As always, it was just amazing. The staff were all friendly and accommodating. The food was incredible. We love that they always start with a relish tray. The table side caesar salad is a must. They serve fresh baked dinner rolls and cake bites with the salad. The sorbet to cleanse your palette is a nice touch. I can't recommend their steak enough! The filet was cooked exactly as ordered, and the sides were delicious. My husband enjoyed the blackened maple salmon. The house cab was divine! If you get dessert, definitely get the chocolate peanut butter pie. It's out of this world! Their specialty drinks are also delicious! It's a perfect spot for family gatherings, larger celebrations, or a date night. You should make a reservation if you're planning to go over the weekend.”

“Just wanted to get on here and post.. we came up from PA snowmobiling and during our route that we found out by stopping at Pond Effects was shut off by pissed of land owners. We had no choice but to turn around and go the exact way we came (conditions weren’t great and it was about 80 miles)… as we sat and had great food and a few beverages, the owners kids came in. She made a point to her daughter that we were some what “screwed” and we were staying in Turin NY roughly 20 minutes away via vehicle. Her daughter went out of her way to take us back to the lodge to get our trailer and load the sleds at her business! All I can say is great people, great food, cold beer and I hope they can find a 3 mile connector to this bar because it would be a great place for snowmobilers to stop!!”

“It's a small town bar where pretty much everyone knows everyone that walks thru the door, kinda like cheers!! Spent many a night sitting on the back porch having a cigarette and some good conversations with patrons and bartenders alike! Food service is new since COVID, but they have pizza and steak sandwiches now that are sure to pair well with whatever beer or drinks you might be having, they occasionally have karaoke or a small band from time to time as capacity isn't huge, but on a good night I think it could probably hold a hundred people maybe, not sure what Fire Marshal capacity is but it's gotta be close to that. Anyway if you ever come thru town on ATV or side by side it's right on the trail so that's never a bad thing and is right next to a dollar general and a gas station right around the corner

Parking: The parking lot isn't paved but it almost adds to the charm of the place and makes for easy access for ATVs and side by sides”

“Stopped in for Friday fish fry. One of the best I've had around here. The breading was light and not over powering, and the fish was amazing. Also, the bread sticks were really good too.”

“I cannot say enough how great the environment, the staff, and ultimately, the food is compared to other pizza places I have eaten at. The pizza here is consistent unlike Capri’s in Boonville. I cannot even stomach pizza from Boonville Luigi’s. This place blows Pizza Hut, Domino’s, and Little Caesar’s out of the equation! I wish this place delivered, because I would order there a LOT more! The prices are fair unlike all of the other local pizzerias in the Boonville area!”

He graciously provided suggestions when I was uncertain and personally delivered my meal once it was ready. While the cuisine is excellent, it's the exceptional staff that makes this restaurant one of my top choices in Lowville. Their impeccable service and delicious food turned what might have been a dreary day into a brighter one. Many thanks to the young gentleman—I wish I had caught his name. Hats off to Jrecks of Lowville for employing such outstanding individuals in our community. It's always a delight to dine here.”
