(There goes my diet) I ran across Layers from Uber Eats and googled the store to read the reviews which were great but I saw some bad reviews about the cakes being stale and not fresh. My cravings got the best of me and I ordered despite some bad reviews. Man oh man was I happy I did. The brownie was delicious and moist. I hate hard dry brownies this place did not disappoint. “I visited Get Baked in Hicksville and was really impressed with the atmosphere, the friendly employees, and the fair prices. However, I was a bit disappointed with the Rainbow Cookie Cupcake. I was under the impression that the cupcakes would be filled, but it turned out to be a basic cupcake with just a rainbow cookie on top. While it was still tasty, it didn’t quite meet my expectations.“

“The best Haitian patties in NY hands down. They even let you use EBT if this message is for anyone. Their cakes are soooooo delicious . Their patties actually have meat inside! The Herring bread they make is literally sent from the gods. I've enjoyed their patties for over 9 years it's a hidden treasure if you know you know.“

Beyond the food, they also carry beautiful ceramic cookware, table runners, tablecloths, and all sorts of thoughtful kitchen and home knick-knacks—all at very reasonable prices. “I go to Diane’s all the time for coffee and baked goods, at least once a week. I invited new moms and dads from the Roslyn school today for a gathering at Diane’s this morning to support local business. We had about 12 people. Sat outside at the patio where the shaded area was. Everybody all bought coffee and pastries. We arranged the tables and chairs in a long row so we could see each other. Later we were told by Diane, the owner, that she wasn’t happy that we rearranged her tables and sat together in a row. Why? The place wasn’t crowded with other guests. We all bought and paid for goods. I couldn’t help but thinking that because we were all Asians?! She could ask us kindly to put the tables and chairs back once we finish, which we did without being asked at the end. But with the unwelcoming remarks I will never come to support this business again. I don’t say this lightly but I felt it was discrimination in every way. I’m truly disappointed. I love Diane’s and the yummy treats but the owner was truly unkind. I share this post here because I don’t think this business supports diversity, which is a shame because this community is becoming more and more diversified.“
