Dotties Ice Cream Bakery • $$
788 Buck Rd, Groton

“Dottie is not only a wonderful cake baker, but she is also so caring and kind-hearted. Throughout our wedding planning process, she listened to all of our needs and remained flexible when we went through an event date change. There's nothing worse than a dry wedding cake, and let me say that Dottie's was far from it. Everyone enjoyed our cake and kept raving about it! It may have been a little too good, since we didn't get our leftovers back from the venue... Being the kind-spirit that she is, dottie offered to take time out of her busy schedule to make us another cake. You definitely won't go wrong with hiring her for your event! Oh, and remember to keep an eye out for your leftovers at your venue.“

“The ice cream is pretty good here! Got the Trick or Treat (vanilla and marshmallow base with candy inside). As someone who appreciates contrasting textures, I loved the soft, icy sweetness of the vanilla ice cream with the crunch of the MnM and sprinkles. Delicious! It's a little pricey, but a one-scoop is more than enough with a waffle cone for about $8. They don't really skimp on the ice cream, and offer samples. They're all-in for Halloween, with lots of decorations around the store, a pumpkin decorating crafting station, Halloween candy bags, and 30% for coming in with a costume. Would definitely recommend!“

“A finger lakes establishment -- great ice cream and also a very nice view of the valley, especially at sunset. Recommend the soft serve, twist in particular (though I dare not venture past a small -- it's a pretty huge quantity of ice cream)“

Cornell Dairy Bar Ice Cream Shop • $
411 Tower Rd Stocking Hall, Ithaca - 9.7 miles

“Wonderful experiences here over many years. My son is a Cornell undergraduate in Ithaca, NY, so we visit often. The ice cream is home-made by Cornell students from local dairy cows. The Cornell Dairy Bar is in a cafeteria located on campus in a modern building with big glass windows. The space is well-lit with lots of small tables and chairs. The dairy bar serves many unique flavors of home-made ice cream, cones, ice cream floats, sandwiches with vegan options, burgers and hot dogs (of meat or vegan options), a wide variety of drinks, coffees, teas and bottled waters. No beer or alcoholic beverages are available. Prices are very modest and reasonable. Food, service and the local ambiance are excellent, and everything is managed by Cornell students. Ice cream is fresh and flavorful, very smooth and creamy, so it melts easily in your mouth. If you're dieting or vegan, this is definitely worth suspending diet or vegan habits because the interesting, innovative flavors are unpredictable but remarkable and surprising, especially delightful because everything is created and managed by Cornell students, teachers and staff.“

Candy’s Corner Cones Ice Cream Shop • $
102 Main St, Moravia - 9.67 miles

“The cutest shop, most delicious ice cream, and the sizes are huge for a fraction of the price. Other shops in my area charge 5 dollars for a small flurry. I ordered a flurry from this shop and it was one size. Look at how big this flurry was for only 5 dollars and some change. It was filled to the brim with ice cream and cookie dough throughout the whole flurry. Well worth it.“

“CASH ONLY but amazing ice cream. Rotating homemade soft serve flavors and hard ice cream too. Don't bother with Purity--this is the true pinnacle of Ithaca ice cream. Also, you can stand across the street from a strange church and read the inscriptions.“
