“We got married here this past week on 5/1/25, and I don't think there are enough nice things I can say about Whitby Castle. Niki and Ralph made everything so unbelievably easy for us the entire time from booking to the days after our wedding. Roxy was my bridal attendant, and she made sure my husband and I were never without a drink. They brought all our cocktail-hour food upstairs for us so we could eat in peace and relax. Niki was so easy to communicate with for the entirety of the planning process. Every single question we asked of Ralph, who doubled as our maître d’, got answered and was perfect. We had so much fun at our reception, and it was so helpful to have Ralph there guiding and directing us every step of the way. It was so easy to coordinate dropping off and picking up all of our decor the week of the wedding. There were so many details, which can be overwhelming on your wedding, but with Roxy, Ralph, and Niki (and the entirety of the staff!!) everything was so seamless and like a well oiled machine. I am so unbelievably appreciative of everyone at this venue and cannot recommend Whitby Castle enough!!“

“We couldn't have asked for a more perfect wedding venue. First of all you cannot get a more perfect view right on the Hudson! We were blown away by the breathtaking beauty and the warm professionalism of the staff detail was thoughtfully handled, and the team went above and beyond to ensure our day was everything we had hoped for. The food was absolutely amazing the cocktail hour the dinner the dessert! What truly stood out was the care and dedication of the venue team. It felt like we were in the best hands possible every step of the way. Vincent was professional and caring and accommodating from start to finish. “We are full-time wedding photographers who did not have the pleasure of working at the Glen Island Harbour Club until January 2025. Winter weddings can be tough if you are not at an iconic location with extensive interiors conducive to photography meant to maximize the natural and ambient light, but in this case, it was perfect! The bridal suite was stupendous and the guys had a perfect place to get ready, too. All the areas had a lot of daylight considering it was the darkest time of the year and were elegantly furnished. The spaces all complimented the chosen scarlet red and classic tux look. We went outdoors for a bit despite the cold and windy day and loved the views of the water. Everywhere we went the staff was perfect for our couple, their family and friends, and us as vendors. We had scouted the venue beforehand, but we did not realize just how much room we’d have to work with - especially getting ready, taking spectacular shots on the staircase and in the lobby, during the ceremony even with so many guests, and for the reception with a huge dance floor. The food during cocktail hour was absolutely amazing with seemingly limitless options for everyone. The venue staff made sure we had a nice meal as well while checking in on the little things we love such as ensuring we’re set for the entrances and knew the itinerary for the reception. And again, this was our impression during the most difficult time of the year! I cannot imagine how extraordinary the property is during warm seasons, but we hope to find out soon. While this is written from the perspective of a small business owner, this is an unbiased and unsponsored review, and we appreciated the sensational first visit with hopefully many more to come. “Chef Jaime catered an outdoor party I hosted this week and she did a fabulous job. Everything from the presentation of the food to the food itself ( delectable) to the passing of wine and dessert to the clean up ( she left my kitchen spotless) was exceptional. My guests could not stop raving about the food for the entire afternoon (and for days afterwards!). She was also very intuitive about what was needed in the moment. And she and her assistant worked completely independently so I was able to enjoy my party. I recommend her most highly.“

“This is a lovely venue that's been newly renovated in 2025.
I had my mother's retirement party in April 2024 and my husband's 60th party October 2025. The food was good and Boston, the maître d', is awesome. I would recommend this venue & certainly host future events there again. Eastwood is a gem in a local community. Thank you Eastwood Manor!“

“Let me start by saying that I am the bride that did not want the hassle of a wedding but ended up having one anyway. A huge factor was the staff at the Westchester Manor and how incredible they were. From the beginning of the planning process until the big day, John Gresia and his team made the process of wedding planning a breeze. John had recommendations for local vendors, in which we used his vendor John for the photobooth, and we cannot say enough good things! Aside from being a beautiful, local venue, the food and attention to detail were excellent. My husband and I had our reception at the Westchester Manor on November 11th, 2023 and it exceeded our expectations in every way! We received positive feedback from all our friends and family, which made it all the more worth it. Our guests to this day are still complimenting us on the service and the food served from cocktail hour, through dinner and dessert. John was always available to answer any questions, was super accommodating through the process, and made everything run even more seamlessly the day of. I cannot wait to have future events here. “I just had my wedding here on December 7th. The whole process went off without a hitch. J was my go to girl for all of my needs and she was so focused on making my day the perfect day. “Excellent take out home cooked meal style food. I love and buy the salmon piece which is huge and is $8. I also get chicken cutlets for the kids. The cabbage and side items also look good but I just add at home a side and the meal is done. Also the coffee is my favorite in the neighborhood. Muffins melt in my mouth particularly the corn and chocolate chip. They should have more chocolate chip or maybe not bc I would buy and eat it more. There food is great home cooked style for a FAIR price. I’m so glad they are in my neighborhood.“

I was in search of a great chef to come to our home and cook a surprise 60th birthday dinner for my husband and came across Chef Abyssinia with a Google search that turned up with many 5-star reviews. I called immediately and was fortunate she was available. It was a pleasurable experience from start to finish and if I could give more than a 5-star review I would. She is a warm, friendly, and incredibly talented chef who takes great pride in her work as was displayed by the preparation and deliciousness. I would go as far as saying it was one of our top 5 meals ever and we are big foodies. We went with the 4-course option that included Scallops Au Gratin, Winter Salad, Maple Glazed Salmon & Chocolate Mousse. We tasted the freshness and love with every bite. “Everything I've ever tried at La Mer has been so delicious - it's clear they take pride in using top quality ingredients and only offering dishes after they've landed on the perfect recipe. I just had their brisket and handmade gefilte fish for the first time and will be craving both all year long. Both were so flavorful, tender and crowd pleasers for the entire group of kids and adults I had over for break fast. I have other family that live and work nearby and La Mer is their go to lunch and catering spot. Also - don't get me started on their seared tuna platter with the best wasabi dipping sauce or shrimp cocktail -- both are staples at all of my parties! I love La Mer and the team there!“

“This location i have come to a few times. It has progressively become better and better.
The rooms are beautiful, comfortable and quite, while there is a great social bar, with very nice accomodationimg staff and the downtown has become much better than it use to be that this hotel is right within.

Only downside I've experienced is the up charge fee for late checkout. Normally around the world a late checkout there is not a secondary charge of you request up till 1-2pm. Unfortunately this hotel is going with the US trend of charging consumers for needing a later checkout even if you checking at 11pm bc of late travel etc.. Only down on have to say, but hotel it top notch“

“Sam's is consistantly terrific! My guests and I are no longer young, and we were offered 2 tables, 1 in the private area near the host and 1 in the larger restaurant area. It was done so graciously; we chose the quieter room so we could hear one another! The food was terrific, as always and the wait staff, knowlegable and accommodative. And, of course, having the rear parking makes it the perfect place to go.“

“Dropped by during our long bike ride to grab some burritos. We did not see them on the online menu but we called in advance to order for pickup and asked if they had them, they said yes of course. They were very nice to us and it was nice on such a rainy day to grab some delicious warm food and sit down inside to warm up. The tortillas they made the burritos from were nice and flaky, there was a good amount of steak in our steak burritos and they were served with a generous amount of rice and beans (also delicious). The sauces were all on point as well. The staff was very nice.“

“I've driven by this place a billion times and never once gave it a second thought. I'm also not a food truck kinda guy but wow did I just find a new spot to frequent.

Prices are so reasonable considering today's absurdity and the food is great. I had the brisket and pulled pork sandwiches, both tasted great. My foodie fiance loved it as well and she's a tough crowd.

If you skipped this place before, turn back and give it a shot. The guy who helped me was very polite, which is rare to see good in person customer service these days. Trust me, this joint should have way more than 30 reviews.“
