“We have a lot of fond memories on Glen Island so it only is appropriate to have a wedding there. Met with Rocco he was extremely helpful. Because of Covid restrictions and other family emergencies we had to put the planning of our wedding on hold. We recently looked at this venue and it is looking like this place will be the winner for having our winter wedding in 2022. Tasteful decor, classy, elegant but not ostentatious or over the top like some of the other venues, which is exactly my style.“
“Whitby Castle in Rye, NY is the absolute best & most perfect place for a wedding & we very highly recommend it as your wedding venue! We got married in March 2024 on a Saturday afternoon at Whitby & it was better than we ever could have imagined thanks to the breathtaking venue & all the amazing managers & staff. We looked at 10 wedding venues in Tri-state area before finding Whitby, & we knew we had to get married there the minute we saw it. First was the gorgeous castle & grounds (flawlessly manicured lawns on Rye Golf club & striking views of LI Sound), & how the venue provided accommodations for all weather types. Next was the wedding package, which included everything needed & was the best price for all options; we couldn’t find a better price anywhere.From our first meeting w/ Niki, the Catering Sales Manager at Whitby, we knew we made the right choice. Niki handled everything w/ the venue throughout the process, including catering, vendors, amenities & all options available through Whitby. Niki took the time to get to know us & thoroughly explained the numerous elements to consider when planning our wedding. She made us feel as if she genuinely cared about us & our wedding (because she did). We later met w/ the Ops Manager, Ralph, about 3 weeks before the wedding & he was just as awesome. Ralph had all the particulars laid out for every aspect of our wedding & provided a comprehensive timeline & wedding plan. Niki & Ralph were incredibly professional & knowledgeable, & also exceedingly responsive & accommodating.Weather was no concern on our wedding day because of how Whitby operates. They have complete & functional outdoor heating throughout the wraparound patio that hosted much of cocktail hour, despite it being high 50°. We had wonderful sun on morning of our wedding, but it was windy & our ceremony would be on colder side in afternoon. We did not want our guests to sit in the cold, so we had an indoor wedding, & it was beyond stunning. The magnificent arch windows in the reception hall gave us astonishing light & scenic views for the ceremony. Regardless of weather, they set up for both options, to have our wedding inside or outside. We thought this was amazing considering how unpredictable weather can be. Some venues tend to have multiple weddings to maximize space, but we appreciated that Whitby treated us as the main event.In addition to astounding views & spectacular customer service, the entrées & various food courses were outstanding. I am not sure which our guests raved about more, the delectable food or marvelous views. We also have nothing but phenomenal things to say about Rosa, the bridal attendant at Whitby. Rosa was exceptionally attentive & helpful throughout the day. Niki, Ralph, Rosa, & our maître d', Gabriel, were all extremely organized & prepared for every scenario. There were so many moving parts & minute details involved in our wedding, but Gabriel was so on top of everything & made it a day to remember. The service was impeccable & all Whitby staff were tremendously kind & helpful. Nearly all our guests told us how it was not only the most beautiful & fun wedding they have ever been to, but the best party. Whitby gave us a wedding beyond our dreams. We couldn’t be happier w/ our wedding & we know it was all because of the venue & their fantastic team. The view overlooking the Hudson and the TZ bridge was beautiful. We were waiting for a rainbow!! Decor was so tastefully done. ? Can’t wait to go back for another event.“

“WHAT A FIND & HIGHLY RECOMMEND Chef Abyssinia! I was in search of a great chef to come to our home and cook a surprise 60th birthday dinner for my husband and came across Chef Abyssinia with a Google search that turned up with many 5-star reviews. I called immediately and was fortunate she was available. It was a pleasurable experience from start to finish and if I could give more than a 5-star review I would. She is a warm, friendly, and incredibly talented chef who takes great pride in her work as was displayed by the preparation and deliciousness. I would go as far as saying it was one of our top 5 meals ever and we are big foodies. We went with the 4-course option that included Scallops Au Gratin, Winter Salad, Maple Glazed Salmon & Chocolate Mousse. We tasted the freshness and love with every bite. “I recently had the pleasure of servicing an event at the Country Club venue. The event was very well organized and the staff was incredibly friendly and helpful. The venue was beautiful, with plenty of space to accommodate our large group. The food was delicious, and the service was impeccable. Everyone had a great time, and I would highly recommend this venue for any event.“
“This was our first time at this restaurant and we really enjoyed it. The food was uniformly excellent. I had the halibut and the other people had the seafood pasta dish, which I also tasted. We had the chowder appetizer which was very good but just a bit on the salty side. Service was casual but efficient and attentive. They split a shared appetizer without being asked. It's a little on the noisy side but not nearly as bad as some other restaurants. While not inexpensive it's a good value.“

“Chef Jaime catered an outdoor party I hosted this week and she did a fabulous job. Everything from the presentation of the food to the food itself ( delectable) to the passing of wine and dessert to the clean up ( she left my kitchen spotless) was exceptional. My guests could not stop raving about the food for the entire afternoon (and for days afterwards!). She was also very intuitive about what was needed in the moment. And she and her assistant worked completely independently so I was able to enjoy my party. I recommend her most highly.“

“Just stopped in today for lunch and picked up the Fish Sandwich of the Day. Absolutely delicious fresh grilled branzino on a fresh brioche roll with greens and amazing fresh tartar sauce. “It is a beautiful place. I went there for a birthday celebration and the space was amazing. It has different rooms to host events. The food was pretty decent and the staff was great. Also, another thing I look at was the cleanliness of the restroom. Definitely was clean so that was a plus as well.Can’t wait to go back either for another function or to host one of my own in the space.“
“Let me start by saying that I am the bride that did not want the hassle of a wedding but ended up having one anyway. A huge factor was the staff at the Westchester Manor and how incredible they were. From the beginning of the planning process until the big day, John Gresia and his team made the process of wedding planning a breeze. John had recommendations for local vendors, in which we used his vendor John for the photobooth, and we cannot say enough good things! Aside from being a beautiful, local venue, the food and attention to detail were excellent. My husband and I had our reception at the Westchester Manor on November 11th, 2023 and it exceeded our expectations in every way! We received positive feedback from all our friends and family, which made it all the more worth it. Our guests to this day are still complimenting us on the service and the food served from cocktail hour, through dinner and dessert. John was always available to answer any questions, was super accommodating through the process, and made everything run even more seamlessly the day of. I cannot wait to have future events here. “It's been years since I've been here and I forgot how good it was. Everything was amazing. We started with the octopus small plate. I was worried when it came out fried and not grilled, but it was so tender, so flavorful. I had the halibut over mushroom risotto and DH had the whole black bass. Portions were large, taste was amazing. Can't wait to return to try other dishes!“
“Beautiful Irish bar in the Bx. I was there to play darts one night. I shoot in a league so we travel around. Dart board on site of course, and away from most people so you can play in peace. The drinks are reasonably priced as well and the bartenders are good too.“

We were impressed by the pre-event coordination and care shared to ensure a good plan. Renee's hired staff was professional and made our guests comfortable with their food and beverage services. Renee & staff competently served passed appetizers and a fully tailored hot meal. The dinner was outstanding and really enjoyed by all. One guest, 75 years of age, said MadeByRK was the best meal ever served at a wedding. Our meal was atypical compared to what many weddings serve, Renne's care made our reception truly feel like an intimate family dinner party. My wife and I will hire Renee again in the years to come. Its such joy to work here!First let me just mention the INCREDIBLE food! Food from both the cocktail hour and the main course were so tasty! All of the guests were raving about it!As a wedding photographer its very important for me to work at a wedding venue that offers great scenic locations so I could get great work for all of my couples and The View on the hudson does not disappoint! “Mickey's Oasis in Scarsdale is a hidden gem for BBQ lovers. Food truck on the side of the road with outdoor seating adds to the charm. The smoked BBQ here is top-notch, with smoky ribs, pulled pork, and mouthwatering brisket. The prices are affordable, and the staff is friendly. Definitely need to return to try their chicken and burgers. Mickey's Oasis is a must-visit for delicious BBQ in a outdoor setting.“
