“I had a wedding shower here. It was the perfect venue with outstanding food and drink (the apple cider mimosas were to die for). The guys were able to golf then join us after and the view and space made the event even more perfect. I was extremely pleased with the venue. “We visit this restaurant often, it is the absolute best vegan restaurant ever.?Every soup I’ve tried was delicious. The sweet potato biscuits are amazing. The desserts are fabulous. “Hands down, the best butternut squash soup with chicken and veggies I've ever had, and the giant buttered roll was a huge bonus. And I am normally very picky and I never write reviews on Google. I especially appreciate it because I have been virtually unable to eat for a long time towards the end of my pregnancy and it has difficult getting back into eating postpartum. This was the most delicious meal I have had in a very long time and truly appreciate the cook who made it.“

It has the same welcoming atmosphere as its previous location, but this is so much better! Food and service are great, and they have been very busy since opening a few weeks ago. If you want to ensure that you can get a table, make a reservation in advance!“

“My wife Donna and I just enjoyed a fabulous Valentines Day dinner at Downtown Cafe. We have enjoyed Graziano's culinary artistry for 30 years now, (since the days of Mary Ps), and he just keeps getting better. My wife had the shortribs, and I had the sushi grade tuna with mushrooms and we enjoyed every bite. The service and atmosphere are the best. I would highly recommend the Downtown Cafe for a delicious, relaxing meal and great hometown atmosphere.“

“We have used Gwenn and Stone Soup Food Company to cater two events now and have been so impressed! Everything was absolutely delicious, beautifully presented, and served with care. All of our guests were coming back for seconds and thirds and asking where the food was from. Both times it was easy to work with Stone Soup and they were responsive and quick to respond. Thank you for everything and we highly recommend them!“

“I know things have to change...but seeing how the place was virtually stripped of all its character from the days of Steve's ownership just broke my old New Paltzian townie heart. I was glad to see old favorites on the menu and maybe some new ones...it wasn't really the same though. I was sad not to see the wooden booths where one *thought* private conversations could be had and the old wooden bar that had so many great moments of community shared. And the local art work too...gone. Not sure if I will return...I'll have to hold onto my memories, though perhaps I will convince my home grrrllzz to go and make new ones with me when I come to town. I am grateful that the name hasn't changed-it was hard enough when it changed from The Gay Nineties Bistro to just *The Bistro*. I am also glad there are menu items on there I know and love. I wish the owners good luck and longevity. It's really an institution and I'd hate to see it fall to ruin like so many of my cherished places of the past.“
