“While traveling upstate, I honestly wasn’t sure I’d find a good spot that accommodates halal dietary needs. Those trips can be hit or miss, especially the further you get out. But to my surprise, I came across 845 Halal and it definitely delivered.
Right across the street, there was also a Crown Fried Chicken and another halal-friendly spot, so it was clear this area had options, but I decided to give 845 Halal a try. I ended up chatting with the brother of one of the founders, who shared that their family has been in the restaurant business for about 30 years and owns multiple spots in the area. That kind of longevity says a lot.
The food itself is exactly what you’d expect from a solid halal fast food spot, burgers, fried chicken, over rice platters, but done right. Everything I had was fresh, flavorful, and hit the spot. I played it safe this time since it was my first visit, but I definitely had my eye on the jerk chicken. Looking back, I probably should’ve just gone for it.
The setup is straightforward, quick service, casual vibe, and they do have some seating available. One thing to note, though, no public restroom, so plan accordingly if you’re stopping by during a longer drive.
Overall, if you’re passing through upstate New York and need a reliable halal option, this is a spot worth checking out. If I lived nearby, I could easily see myself coming here a couple of times a week. Next time, I’m definitely going for that jerk chicken.“

“I moved out of town to Duchess County and I drove down to Mohegan Lake just to go to the Applebee’s. The kitchen manager Will was amazing. He helped with my grandchildren’s specific dietary needs. Our server Anna was so knowledgeable and helpful also. I lived in Cortlandt manor for 25 years and loved going there.“

Parking and restrooms were very good. Neighborhood was a little sketchy saw homeless people looking for cans and asking for change in the parking lot. Overall was good and average place.“

“I legitimately got the nicest most well-made burgers and wrap that I've gotten from any of the mainstream fast food restaurants in a very long time. The gal behind the counter made our sandwiches nicely and not the usual fast and sloppy. It may have been because it was after the lunch rush and they weren't very busy, but they were made very nicely nonetheless. She also added some extra spicy sauce to my wrap when I asked.“

“McDonald in Cortlandt Manor is the nicest Fast food place in a region. It has very good location,easy to get parking for the car and great fast service inside and outside orders through the window. “Everything at this Burger King location is sufficient enough for 5 stars. However, I don't understand why I can't get the cheese melted on any sandwichs anymore, whether it's their cheeseburgers or their egg and cheese sandwiches, it's never hot enough to melt the cheese anymore. Although this probably explains why I could place an app order at the drive through and it'll be ready before I get to the window.“
