The owner came out and explained the menu to us. They were unbelievably helpful and the food was absolutely delicious! Salad is great although they put green peppers in the salad but it’s not overwhelming and even if you don’t like bell peppers, you may not notice. Service is great, friendly, and the food is 100% authentic!!“

“Last night we had a delectable dinner at Basil. The chilien sea bass jumped from the sea in my plate. The seasoning was perfect. The rice was cooked to perfection. The cuisine is light and tasty. My husband had the beef skewers which he enjoyed and he is very difficult to please. Desert got a high mark with the baklava and the chocolate bread pudding which you should not miss. The service was perfect. The ambiance was noisy and bubbly. We will definitely return to Basil for its excellent table.“

“the food was delicious, I’m in love with this restaurant, I love lahmacun and the kebap and the gyro. You really do get the taste of food in Türkiye in Long Island. They now have pastry department. I tried few of them and took some home. They’re unbelievably delicious. The sweet taste is very well balanced on the deserts and it doesn’t overwhelm you. Love it.“

“FINALLY giving my honest review on this place. I have been eating here for the last 3 weeks. Just because I seen it around my area and been wondering what the food is like. The first couple of times I ordered the beef and lamb gyro. When I tell you it’s easily the best gyro I ever had!!! The moment you bite through it you can taste the juicy cuts of meat they had used. Even when I put some away and reheated for later it was still tender and juicy. No exaggeration. This time I just placed an order through Uber eats and I wanted to try the fried liver. A part of me was scared because liver is very iffy when people are preparing. But to my surprise the meat was soft and tender I could not get enough. And the lemon squeeze on top brung the flavor to another level.i am very pleased with this place. It is added on my go to spot ! Try for yourself you will not be disappointed“

“I turned the car around because the sign said "dollar oysters." Worth every second doing so and every penny. Apparently this is a Tuesday special and if you're not into oysters, they also do clams. I grabbed a seat at the bar. Cassie, the bartender was friendly, super efficient and convinced me into 10 more oysters after my initial order of 15. They were cold and fresh, and came with all the fixings. Their mingonette was all I really needed. I saw a few other dishes coming out of the kitchen and they all looked great. A few folks at the bar got some healthy looking pours and the mussels smelled divine. Totally worth stopping in.“

“My first time eating here, the cashier (I didn't catch her name) and the cook was wonderful people. I ordered a buss up but they don't do buss up, so I got a regular roti. I was skeptical at first, I had a bad experience when I went to a Guyanese restaurant in Brooklyn and it was bad, however this is so good, the empanada my son had, he said was the best he ever ate. This is a hidden jewel. If you love Caribbean food this is another spot to come. It mostly take out, parking is small but they're spaces on the other side of building which is a little bigger. You will enjoy the meal. This place been open for two years now, support them. And the music is mellow.Thank you!!!!“

“Just stopped in, my husband saw on yelp. Delicious! I was feeling cold and wanted soup. Their soup is delicious! And it was very warm. I do not know the names of the pastries I purchased, but the potato one was excellent!! Then there was a meat and cheese, also highly recommended. Really fun to taste and try! “Such nice, fresh food again this afternoon. Our waitress was friendly and professional (Ciarra) and the guys were flexible about keeping tomatoes and peppers out of our salads--THANK YOU. They used shredded lettuce as a base, which meant an extra step for them. We really enjoy the salads, their dressing really makes it. And the yogurt sauce never disappoints. Chicken souvlaki is such a favorite that we almost can't bring ourselves to try new dishes? Whole wheat pita is really appreciated by our family. Cinnamon and almond cookies are special!
