“My sister and I recently reserved the Glens Falls Tap Room for my parents surprise 50th anniversary party. We started planning over a year in advance and corresponded with Anne Barry and Torey. They were both amazing to deal with and made the planning process so seamless! Anne was beyond accommodating to any and all requests that we had. She even went as far as to block my parents from their facebook page so they would not see when Mean Max posted that they would be closed for a private party. Any questions we had were always answered thoroughly and promptly. There was a couple times where we stopped into the taproom and Torey was working. He was amazing in assisting us with any additional questions we had. We had a slide show on a usb cable that they happily projected on their wall in the taproom as well as on one of their tvs. The party went off without a hitch and we would most definitely recommend them to anyone looking to host an event. Our bartender, Christa, was beyond amazing and so friendly with everyone. She was beyond helpful with anything and everything we needed and our guests adored her! Overall we can't express enough how much Mean Max made our event perfect and catered to everything we asked. They are amazing to work with and did everything they could to make our event a success!!! We highly recommend them whether you're looking to reserve for a private party or just go and visit their taproom and have some amazing beers!!! “ADK nachos were super good!! My husband got the steak and loved it. I did half a chicken with homemade bbq sauce, sweet potato fries and Mac n cheese. Chicken and fries were soooo good. I found the Mac n cheese to be bland but I think that’s the style if you were to pile on something bbq flavored then it would have been better. On its own it wasn’t my taste but everything else was very good. Can’t wait to go back next trip to Lake George!“

I come back to the Capitol District every year to visit and had the amazing luck to run across Lake George Distillery Co at the Troy Farmers Market. Sampled a few of what they had at their stand and every one I tried was smooth and delicious. I bought a bottle of their Straight Bourbon Whiskey and a bottle of their Maple Infused Bourbon. Now that I'm staring at the last finger of my LGDC Straight Bourbon Whiskey, I'm sitting here wishing I had bought three bottles. It's that good. I wish the Virginia ABC (Alcohol Beverage Control) stores here carried it!“

The potato nuggets are delightfully a little over cooked which gives it a little char flavor that not all may like, but is what I crave. Wash it all down with a crystal lite lemonade or red fruit punch. It’s processed, it’s not fancy, but it’s the foundation of many of my childhood memories. If you’re a snob, don’t eat here. If you can’t appreciate imperfection go somewhere else. If you want to veer from healthy food and have something you know isn’t good for you, it’s the perfect guilty pleasure. It was a busy busy time since there was a game at the Civic Center across the street and every place was packed. The food was outstanding and I would recommend Rocco’s.“
