“This is a super tasty food place, it makes me feel back in the days somewhere in Oaxaca. Dishes are very spicy, I love that but just letting you know, service was great, the place I would say it’s not like to hangout for too long but I feel it’s part of the concept.“

“The food doesn’t have much of taste, over-prices and smaller in portions but the service is very good. Friendly servers. Indoor seating g is limited to two tables despite enough space. Well decorative witb quotes and stuff (irrelevant to a food post) Plus point is it’s HALAL.“

“Been here a couple of times, and each time the food and the service has been amazing! Has definitely become one of my favourite spots for Mexican food in all of Long Island. I can’t wait to keep trying different items on the menu until I’ve tried everything they have to offer. This place is great in every aspect, and worth every penny! The photos are from the last time I went with my boyfriend, we got the birria tacos and el burrito chingon. Portion sizes were perfect!“

“I was here last night around 8:30pm for the first time and my experience was 10 out of 10. I had the guava coconut margarita on the rocks and it was what I needed after working a 12 hour shift. I'll definitely be returning not because of the great food but because of how kind and pleasant the staff was!!!!!“

We’ve been here many times and tried variety of food.Birria tacos are so flavorful and authentic. Pupusa, nacho supreme, tacos (all kinds), fajita, burritos- all excellent! If you are looking for authentic Mexican food, this is a good place!“

“This is a 2 visit review. Both times the food was great. I’d recommend the loaded fries and the fish tacos. They were both delicious. The margaritas are pretty good also, slightly on the sweeter side but still worth a try (I like mine more tart). The bartender accidentally gave us chicken nachos & to accommodate, brought us a side of the steak to put on top. The staff was very welcoming & kind even before the mixup. It seemed to just be 2 people working the floor but they did a great job even with a full bar of customersKid-friendliness: There’s a kid menu“

“It so happened that I've just gotten back from Mexico the week before so I had a fresh palate to compare Tacombi's tacos to. Well, they taste just like they do in Mejico! No water-down "Americanized" or Tex-mex here. Every ingredient adds flavor. Their tortillas are made of flavorful corn (not flavorless flour that just holds things together), their meats are deliciously seasoned and juicy (they don't rely on cheeses and salty greasy rice to get flavor), and their home-made salsas for the tacos go so well with the specific meat.My favorites? Baja Fish. The batter is light and crispy, and the cabbage and sauce make it a party flavor. A close second are the Sinaloa Shrimp and the Beef Birria (the consome is delicious).Since I don't live far, I've started to be a regular with my budsfor 2 for 1 Taco Tuesdays. We love that we don't have to wait to get seated, that the atmosphere is simple and casual, but more importantly, the service is friendly (thank you Deandra!) and quick! My wife also likes this place but, because she's vegetarian, there's only one type of taco (Black Bean & Sweet Potato) and one tostada (Avocado Tostada) that she can pick from. She loves those though! My only recommendation to Tacombi is to switch to corn on the cob for the street corn and to pleeez add Carnitas, another vegetarian choice (maybe re-fried beans and Nopal, or with Jackfruit [Yaka]) and, since it's roots are from Yucatan, why not Cochinita Pibil?All-in-all, not just one of my favorite spots in Forest Hills but actually in Queens!“

“We were utterly shocked at the delicious, authentic Mexican food served at this hole in the wall spot. The chips were hot & freshly made, & all five of us enjoyed our food. It’s a small space, though, & looks like it used to be a bodega/corner store, but it was one of the best Mexican meals I’ve ever had, & the staff is so friendly & considerate. So if you’re in the area, definitely give it a try.“

“The best birria tacos! Super juicy and loaded and they come with pickled onions on the side. Convenient location right next to parking lot. I usually get the meal (3 tacos and consome) and one or two extra tacos. Very filling. Staff are fast and friendly. Bring cash and don’t forget to tip.“

“I've been looking for a real good Mexican restaurant. This place is very good and ok. I found the tacos to be very good. They were tasty and I enjoyed them. The Enchilada meal was ok. The beans were good, but the enchiladas were just ok. Overall, I think this place is worth going to again. I do recommend.“

We had a great time our server was really nice and friendly and defintely gave us some fantastic suggestions. ? had the fajitas which were amazing and filling. “I haven't historically sought out tamales since they are so often made with red meat, which my pescatarian palate doesn't touch. Evelia's however, changed the game a bit, offering lots of vegetarian options catering to a variety of palates. Evelia's has a reputation as one of the best places to get tamales in New York. I often organize casual restaurant crawls through Queens, and on my last one I made this one of the first stops. Their menu features an impressive array of options, including quesadillas, tacos, and tortas, but the real star of the show is undoubtedly the tamales. Determined to try all the vegetarian ones, I was kind of disappointed to learn that the Impossible tamales featured on their menu aren't ever actually on offer due to lack of demand. I ordered the only vegetarian one they actually had, which was queso and beans. The tamale itself was a revelation, bursting with flavor and paired so well with the bright, zingy sauce that accompanied it. I was very impressed by how savory it was. Evelia's has managed to prove that meat-free doesn't have to mean flavor-free. This Queens gem is worth a visit whether you're a tamale enthusiast or a skeptic like me.“

“One of the best Mexican restaurants in New York. Food was so delicious and tasted homemade. Authentic and very affordable for the quality. I especially loved the tostones with guacamole (some of the best guac ive ever had) and eggplant taco (shockingly flavorful). Highly recommend to anyone in the area.“

“First I visited the restaurant when I was on my way to Texas then I saw this this place and there were a lot of food options then I ask for the recommendation and they told me that the burrito ball is really good because I can put anything in it or you can say that it is more like a custom ball, then I take there there recommended food and it was really good and it is more healthy so I gave it 10/10 specialty with there white and chipotle sauces so I recommend you guys this place for healthy and value for money food.“

“Mexican food is my favorite and all these “authentic” Mexican places (with no Spanish workers let alone Mexican workers) cannot compete at all. Took me a while to try it out because I was tired of being disappointed but they did NOT disappoint!!!!“

“This spot is very pretty and aesthetic although it’s small. Honestly the food wasn’t that good. Everyone that I went with thought their food was just okay and pretty bland. The guacamole options are cool and the churros were pretty tasty. The service was great and they had a lot of options on the menu so maybe we just didn’t get the right things.Dietary restrictions: They were able to take out dairy from the dishes and were sure to check with the kitchen about a sauce they had.“

“An actual hidden gem in queens! I go out of my way to stop here every chance I get! Everything I’ve had was phenomenal.. you can’t go wrong with any meat choice. Even if you’re not into meat, they know what they’re doing with the guacamole, the rice has veggies in it so soft.. all cooked and marinated perfectly and all pairs well with their sauces. The sauces are so good the meal & sauce compliment eachother. (Huge fan of their green sauce, I put it on the side and dip how I please) always welcoming & kind, clearly a family owned business. All reasonable regular pricing like any other taqueria spot in queens honestly. I’ll be back soon! :)“

“Ordered the mixed enchiladas platter, a red beef soup, and 2 tacos. The enchiladas hit a craving I’ve had for a while. I feel like a lot of places in NYC don’t do them right, this place does though. I found them to be delicious. Red sauce is better than green sauce. The soup was also really good, very flavorful and spiced well. Something I’ve never had before!Tacos were alright. Not the best I’ve had in NYC, but were decent. I think too much guacamole… and I love guacamole.Free chips & salsa at the start, good salsa too. Try something you’ve never had before on this menu, you’ll surprise yourself.“

“Delicious tacos whenever I come with my family but the last time I came the gentlemen serving were saying vulgar things to some lady outside. “Jackson Heights has no shortage of great food, and this branch of the Homemade Taqueria is no exception. The simple dining room is very relaxed, almost cafeteria-style. The menu is broken down by category: tacos, tortas, encheladas, nachos, quessadillas, tostadas, burritos, huaraches, and picaditas.Given that the tortillas are homemade (hence the name), we ordered a couple of tacos, an order of huaraches, and some guacamole. As expected, the tortillas and, therefore, the chips were excellent. They also offer fresh juice, so I ordered a lemonade and watched them squeeze fresh lime into the blender, which was terrific. The food arrived with three sauces: a roasted tomatillo salsa, a “guacamole” style sauce, and a spice chile sauce. All were hard to stop eating. Of the two tacos we ordered, the Beria was much better. The chicken taco was a little bland, but that’s what the salsa was for. The Huaraches were tasty; I ordered them with Al Pastor, which came with lots of pineapple mixed in.Many people ordered quesadillas, which looked fantastic as well.If you are in the area, it’s a fun spot to pop in and have a quick bite. You can even sit on the stools by the window and watch the tortillas being made outside. It’s funny that they are made (literally) outside of both the kitchen and the restaurant, but who cares? They were great.“

“I am a s***** for discoveries. So I cheated a little and saw a TikTok of a guy going into the middle of Corona to buy pizza, what????? The Tiktok was pretty cool, they highlighted this guy who has a wood fired pizza oven on the corner of 111th st and 37th Ave. I thought the pizza looked great so I decided to drive over, the pizza takes a few minutes to make but it was well worth it. The price was super reasonable at $12-$15 a pie depending on the toppings and comes with 6 slices. Overall, I had a great experience but it didn't occur to me that today was raining, so the crust today felt a little under but because it was raining it would totally affect the outcome of the pie. I will be back to make a second visit. He has a google page and his ig is instagram.com/tauro_wfpi…. I would drive and I would also call ahead if you are in a rush. His hours are Tues-Sun 5pm to 11pm.The food:Quattro Stagion Pizza- Tomato sauce, mozzarella, artichoke, mushroom, ham, basil, black olives. I thought this was great, it was also my fav. I really enjoyed the fresh toppings and the addition of the fresh basil made a huge difference. With all their pies their tomato sauce is amazing. yelp.com/user_local_phot…Mexicana- Tomato sauce, mozzarella, spicy sausage, jalapeno, onion and basil. This was really interesting and of course it had some heat. The sausage which I think was chorizo had a good texture and taste. I think they ran out of jalapeno so they used I think serrano chilies instead and even though they sliced it thin, it did have a punch of heat which I enjoyed. yelp.com/user_local_phot…Margeurita- Tomato sauce, mozzarella, basil and olive oil. This was the most simple but two out of the four of us said it was their fav. I did like it but to me it was a bit bare. Overall, it's good for purist. yelp.com/user_local_phot…“

“This restaurant has such a nice vibe. I live close by and I try to take advantage of a sunny day to come and sit on the patio. The music, food AND drinks are good. Want to mention that the music isn’t loud. Just soft enough for you to indulge in great conversation and hear yourself lol. Also, I have to give a special shout out to Rolando. He’s, hands down, one of the most attentive servers I’ve encountered every time I come. Not overbearing, just checks in as needed. I never do reviews but decided to just because of his service.“

“Fantastic micheladas! They are not lying on their sign. I got strawberry, mango mix and tried the mango one first, both were so tasty and flavorful. I was a bartender and they gave the drink to me with barely any ice and that just raised a red flag for me, but do not worry, they somehow know what they're doing. They do let you mix the mix on your own. They serve different flavors separately, but I asked for the mix, so it's not on the menu just be sure to ask if you want too. Very sweet family styled Hispanic staff running it and are very attentive, sweet and are bilingual. Spanish and English. Best michelada I've ever tried but I did not try the food.“

“I came here with a group of 9 for Father's Day. The place is pretty cute decorated with various tiles and artwork from Mexico. The staff was extremely kind and friendly and the food came out very quickly considering we had such a large group on a holiday. Everything tasted great even the drinks! And we ordered more margaritas than would've probably been socially acceptable for Father's Day. The carne asada burrito is 100% on point. They give you complimentary chips and salsa and the salsa has a nice spicy kick to it. Guac is available for an additional charge. We dined in so I can't speak on delivery quality but I can honestly say I would definitely be coming back here for that burrito. It's authentic Mexican so the food may be spicy to some just a heads up.“
