I was unhappy about the staff not keeping the tables cleaned and I had to do that myself….but when given my survey and finding out how I rated the waitresses…..they went out of their way to make it up to me. “Lots to par take in here, you can get a beer, wine or cocktail at the bar, get your bowling shoes on and go bowling or maybe just sit down and order some food.I chose the last option and with speedy service and a smile I got a white pizza and sweet potato fries. “One our first visit when we arrived it was pretty busy and seemed frantic. The staff and who appeared to be a manager were speed walking everywhere. We looked at each other and the bartender looked up, smiled and said quite friendly "someone will be right with you". And in about 10 seconds they were. We got sat, and took a good look at the menu. Our server walked up after a few minutes and greeted us. We got welcomed, told the specials, asked if we had any questions, answered our questions, took our drink order and was politely told he'd be back with our drinks and to take our food order. HOW NICE! Service, actual good old fashioned professional restaurant service! He promptly came back with the drinks, chatted a bit and took our order. As we waited we watched the restaurant show. They were still busy. The bar was full. All the employees were moving fast but safely. Especially the manager she was zooming. Helping the bar, clearing tables, seating customers, chatting with customers, running food. It was actually very entertaining. The food shows up quickly. My wife had the Rodeo burger and I had the Buttermilk fried chicken sandwich. She really like the burger and I was AMAZED with the chicken sandwich. And what was funny was I generally don't order a chicken anything when I'm out. But when asked what was surprisingly good that's what he recommended and boy was I happy. The rest of the meal and dining experience didn't disappoint. We chatted with the manager and complimented her entire staff and food. We now have a new restaurant on our "Proven" list.“

“This is the place to go!!!!! We came in from Pittsburgh to play in a hockey tournament and the staff made us feel right at home with them. “My husband and I went out to eat here on Friday to try their fish fry and it was excellent. The breading was unique and crispy and it didn’t taste like it was old gross fryer oil. The bar attendant was friendly and attentive. It’s a somewhat small place, I don’t believe their is actual waitresses, just order at the bar and they’ll bring you the food if you’re at a table. Overall a decent place for bar food with a great fish fry.“

“This was our second stop on our Wing Trail in Buffalo. It was a high recommendation from our waitress at Gabriele's Gate. It was dead when we got there at around noon on a Thursday, which was unusual. But the Garlic Parm wings were really good. Saucy, crispy, and very savory. And the Bucket O Beers was a great deal for a bunch of really good beers.“

“Intentionally stopped here with the assumption that it would not be busy but in hopes of finding a place to watch the basketball games. There was only one staff in the front but the place was not very busy so it was fine. Ordered food and drinks at the bar and seated ourselves. We ordered a chicken taco salad, wings and drinks. Everything was reasonably priced and tasted great. The atmosphere is of a clean dive bar but it did smell like a combination of dirty dishrag and weed.“

“It's a nice family restaurant! We went on a Thursday night and it was a little busy but nothing crazy. We did wait a while for our order but it was for a a large group of people. My minor complaints are the waitress never came back to our table to check on us after dropping our food off (everyone has always come back at least once). My husband even had to chase her down for the check. And my friend didn't finish his burger bc it was ordered well-done but it was more like medium well. Prices are fair for down home cooking though! “My favorite bar/restaurant in all of Buffalo, for a well-rounded night! I'm surprised it's not a common recommendation on wing lists as their wings, especially the weck wings, are 10/10. I'd recommend going Wednesday-Saturday so you can also get the Candyman pizzas (any of them, candyman style!), and sitting on the Candyman side for craft cocktails or Caputis side for a great beer menu. The section between Caputi's and Candyman has a pool table, dart boards, and a couple pinball machines so it really is the perfect spot for friends, dates, or even just to go by yourself and mingle with the staff and regulars.“

I got catfish with corn meal batter, a hard to find combination in these parts I miss from my youth, and chose the collard greens over the green beans. A variety of other standard sides came with as well - potato salad, mac'n'cheese, corn bread and more. Unlike many places, who seek to cover up the use of cheap ingredients lacking flavor by giving you gigantic portions, every bit of this massive meal tasted like the most fantastic grandmother on the face of the earth spent all day in her kitchen just to make you happy. The flavor profiles, the textures, the absolute joy your stomach sent to your brain - it was like Fish Fry Christmas!I've never had "the itis" (food coma) so bad as this day, or the next when I ate the other half.
