New American Restaurants near Lansing, NY

“I stayed here at the Rogues Harbor Inn in a beautiful room in March with my daughter. We absolutely loved the place. The owner paid attention to detail with the pictures, furniture, room decor, etc. The place was so inviting! There was a most beautiful “ surprising” breakfast room when we opened the double doors to go in for breakfast! ( You will see when you go there… I don’t want to ruin the surprise)… Maybe my daughter and I are silly about things like this but our mouths dropped and we couldn’t stop smiling… Not to mention the best breakfast…Oh and there is a bar attached to the inn that you could only get back into the inn with your key card… The bar was a quiet bar, with great food and service, and we were so happy to get food after a long day of travel without getting back into the car! The history of this place was just so interesting, the place was impeccably clean and the owner was wonderful. We loved this place so much…5 stars all the way.. in fact we need to make another trip back soon!“

“We just had the best time! Capped off our Christmas Eve shopping at Rogues. Food was great! Crispy wings with mixed garlic parm and medium sauces and their steak fries! Nice beer selections and FANTASTIC service! Thanks for a great experience!“

“The Statler Hotel staff were very helpful and friendly. The staff at the check-in desk were very nice and helped us with the check-in and check-out process. They also helped us pick up our wedding decor the day after our event. The Ballroom is beautifully decorated and the rooms are clean and spacious! Chef Eric and his team create food that is delicious, and we received so many compliments from our wedding guests about the food! We highly recommend the Statler Hotel if you are planning an event or staying in the Ithaca area.“

“My daughter and I stopped in here on a Friday night, the waiter was fast and nice. We had spaghetti and meatballs and chicken parm dinners, the salad bar was fresh and the food was delicious! We will be back again for prime rib night! The decor is very nostalgic I thought it was great, my teen daughter gave the decor a giggle!“

“Very small place with excellent food and service. We stopped in for lunch and made the mistake of going around noon. It would have been quieter if we had waited an hour. The food is excellent, though. We tried their version of a falafel sandwich and the rice bowl. Both the chickpea patty and chicken were delicious. Parking can be difficult in their rear lot as it is shared with several apartment buildings as well. Still would recommend, though. I think it's worth the hassle for such excellent food.“

“I drove down from Cape Vincent to meet one of my best friends from college who was in the area for a family wedding. I was completely blown away by my meal. The waitress was incredible. I had the Chilean sea bass and it literally melted in my mouth. The salad with fresh fruit and a raspberry vinaigrette was outstanding. We ordered coffee and I was brought a little tray with fresh whipped cream, as well as other delightful garnishes. Finally… the mile high carrot cake!! Pure bliss. Thank you for a truly memorable experience. And I was so grateful that we weren’t rushed. We don’t get to see each other frequently and it was a blessing to just spend time together.“

“Excellent place to eat food. They have a huge variety of foods. I actually like them better than the dining halls because the salad bar has more options and is more organized. They also pay by the lb for a lot of stuff, so you don't have to feel compelled to stuff yourself to get your money's worth. On the go snacks are available too.“

“I had a wonderful experience here! The food was delicious, I got the Mac and Cheese with chicken and corn. So good! The server was very friendly and attentive and food came out in perfect timing! Loved the overall vibe of this establishment.“

“This was our first restaurant during a 4 night visit to Ithaca and area. I say that because we wanted to return later but unfortunately it was closed for two nights for a private event. My wife is celiac and she ordered the fish and chips with sides of mac and cheese and fries. She found the order plentiful and excellent. The fish was lightly breaded, properly cooked, and VERY tasty. The fries were excellent and the mac and cheese also tasty. It was a real treat for a celiac to be able to order delicious gluten-free fish and chips. I ordered the blackened fish and grits and it too was delicious and plentiful. Unfortunately, I gave this restaurant 4* because of the very long wait for our meals to be delivered and then for the bill to arrive later. And this despite the fact that the place was less than half full. However, the three staff were all moving very quickly and our server was quite helpful when we placed our order. So I suspect that maybe the restaurant was short-staffed that day or unable to hire sufficient staff. In any case, even with the wait we were willing to return if we could.“
