“We had lunch here today and everything was amazing! Our Dad asked about Sloppy Joes and the server pointed out that they didn’t have them on the menu but suggested the brisket grilled cheese. Before our food arrived the serve came out with a specially made sloppy Joe for our Dad. He ate the whole thing and said it was delicious! I had the brisket grilled cheese and that was very yummy! For the chef to make a custom dish was so unexpected and very much appreciated. It was nice to see Dad happy and have a full belly!!!! We will be back for sure!”

“Was invited for the Syracuse Duke basketball game. But before had a wonderful dinner at Joey’s Restaurant. Noticed Big Mama’s Cheesecakes, hm, interesting/catchy name. Make note this is one dessert that so many make, so many claim to have so called mastered etc it is extremely difficult to master. From my 33 years of experience & being a 3 star chef from Manhattan & serving the biggest names in any form of entertainment I have to express that in this crazy culinary business this cheesecake was well beyond anything I have ever tasted. Magnificent isn’t even enough to say. There is a famous restaurant in France named Les Papilles. Exceptional in bakery especially cheesecake. The cheesecake here in Syracuse is right there with Les Papilles. This is a complete lottery win for this area of the country. I’ve been around the globe and have visited many culinary gems, this is in my top 20. Absolutely brilliant”

“This place has the best gyros and the best fries in the area and to me it’s not particularly close. I’m a big gyro fan and have had a lot of gyros from everywhere around here. This one is the best one. Fries are always crispy and have a crunch to them. The gyros are also HUGE. They barely fit in the pita and the sauce he uses (which I’m pretty sure is homemade) is so good. Could not recommend this place enough. It’s a hole in the wall and it may get overlooked because of its appearance. DO NOT OVERLOOK THIS PLACE”

“Had a delicious taste of the Orient while dining at Bangkok Thai & Japanese Restaurant yesterday. 🏯 We were greeted and seated immediately by a very respectful hostess/server. For appetizers, we split Chicken Money Bags ($12.95) and Crab Rangoons ($8.95). The Crab Rangoons were unlike any I’ve had elsewhere—the filling was reminiscent of a cream cheese Alfredo sauce, making it a gooier filling than expected. They were very flavorful. I had Drunken Noodles with shrimp ($19.50) and ordered mild spice, but they still had some kick to them. My friend ordered Pad Thai with shrimp ($19.50) at medium spice, but after tasting each other's, we determined mine was actually spicier. Although you can't see the shrimp in the pictures, there was a sufficient amount. We both enjoyed our entrees very much, and the presentation was appealing. The service was efficient and pleasant, with two people waiting on us. The appetizers came out quickly, and the entrées actually arrived before we were done with our appetizers—which was understandable, as there were only two other diners in the restaurant and the staff was on top of things. The entrée portion sizes could have been slightly bigger, but with the two appetizers, we left full. The total bill came to $62.00, which I believe is in line with most other full-service Thai/Japanese restaurants. The only downside was the lack of ambiance. I hadn’t eaten there since 1990, and unless I’m mistaken, I don’t think anything has changed in terms of decor or furniture. The seats are padded, but the padding is completely worn down. It’s a very dated-looking restaurant, so definitely not the place to go if you’re looking for a romantic dining experience. That said, it was very tidy, and I had no concerns about cleanliness. It was a great meal with excellent service, and needless to say, I won’t be letting another 35 years go by before returning! 4 out of 5 ⭐️'s”

From the soup French Onion to my Turkey dinner! The food was amazing. I could not have the Sauerbraten but that is what my partner ordered. He thought the was amazing and was able to bring home a wonderful piece of raspberry pie. (which I could not eat.). But Sarah checked over all of the dessert options to try and find one for me. “Was working near by and needed some decent food fast and didn't have a lot of $ to spend. They were fast, good, and the pirtions for size small of pork with mixed vegetables and the side of white eice were bigger than expected.”

“We used to frequent here often and always got the burnt ends sandwich with sweet potato fries as one of the sides. The other dish pictured is the regular brisket sandwich with regular fries (I added my own cheese bc $2 for them to add cheese is insane). You used to have to pay extra for that side of sweet potato fries, but not anymore. The serving of sweet potatoes fries is just…sad in comparison to the regular fries. I think I’d rather pay the extra for the sweet potato if it means you’d get a normal serving of them, especially since the other sides are also so small.

Also placed an order at 6:53, was told 25 minutes, got there at 7:15, didn’t get the order until almost 7:50. They weren’t very busy aside from a larger table in the back and a few people at the bar. The wait wasn’t really an issue until the third time being told to come back in another 10 minutes.

The food was sub par. The side of mac & cheese tasted like just plain noodles. The sandwiches were okay, wish there was more BBQ sauce on my regular brisket, it was a bit dry.

I’ll assume it was an off night for them and just dock one star for this and will have to try again another night.”

“We ordered over the phone for delivery and they were fantastic! Very professional, very friendly, very communicative about how long it would take and if anything was out of stock. The staff there are wonderful and definitely reason enough for me to order from them again. The food was delicious but I personally think the chicken was a little overdone for my taste.
