Shamus Restaurant Reviews
My husband and I were working late tonight. We wanted a sit down restaurant and searched what was in the area. we came across Shamus and did it not disappoint. We both ordered an appetizer which was so yummy and we both ordered the Twin Filets. OMG, I am a steak snob as I only eat filets and let me tell you that was a 5 star. The steak was so tender I could cut it with a fork. The pumpkin butter for the fresh in house made bread was delicious. Needless to say if you haven't been,...read full review
If you’re looking for the best fish fry in Lockport, NY look no further than SHAMUS.
Arguably better than Montondos, Shamus delivers every single time — crispy, flavorful, and cooked to perfection.
It’s our go-to spot not just for the taste, but for the consistency and quality that never disappoints.
The staff is welcoming, attentive, and truly elevates the experience. Highly recommended.
We always enjoy our trips to Shamus. We enjoy everything about the experience. Very pleasant people and excellent background music. Shamus Restaurant offers amazing food and a cozy, traditional Irish Pub atmosphere that keeps guests coming back. The Reuben egg rolls, southwest egg rolls, steak sandwiches, and roast beef are must-tries. The Guinness battered fish fry is considered the best in Lockport, NY, being crispy, flavorful, and cooked to perfection. The warm bread is rich and hearty, while the coleslaw has a more vinegary taste. The staff is welcoming and attentive, enhancing the dining experience. Customers have praised the pleasant environment and excellent background music.
On busy days, especially on holidays like Valentine's Day, the restaurant may be crowded, but the consistent quality of the fresh, delicious food and friendly service makes it worth the visit. Dishes like the twin filets have been noted as outstanding, with no use of tenderizers that can ruin the meat. The menu features a wide selection from steak to burgers and chef specials daily. Favorites such as French Onion Soup, Fish-n-Chips, and Beef on Weck are highly recommended, though some note that French Fries can be a bit greasy. While takeout may not always match the restaurant experience, Shamus remains a charming place for a small party or special occasion, offering a lot to enjoy.
