Had eaten at Barney's two weeks earlier and it was fantastic. Brought our visiting family back on this night to enjoy it and it wasn't the same. I even had the same dish, the Tuna and it was vastly different. Way too much ginger. My family and I all agreed that it was just ok and nothing special that night. Wait staff was very good and friendly. They need to have consistency.
Barney's owner(Ari) and wait staff are attentive and affable. The tuna tartare appetizer is delicious and the Long Island duck special is tender and savory as is the banana foster. .
From the moment you walk into Barney's, you are welcomed with an ambiance that only a place as special as this historic venue can provide. This building is a true staple for Long Island's Gold Coast and it is clear that the owners take such pride and care of their restaurant.
