We had just left a Yankees game and my husband suggested we stop in Long Island City before heading home to get a bite to eat. A friend of his told him about this place and we were like kids in a candy store, not knowing what to get first. This place is a market, there are displays of fish on ice. You pick out your fish, put it in a bag, it gets weighed and you tell them how you want it cooked. This is an excellent fish market! There's a good variety of sea food, and it's always fresh and delicious. The service is great and friendly. Couldn't recommend this place more, it's my go-to for any kind of sea food.

Great fish -bad customer service is not first-rate. This is the original Astoria Seafood, best known for its displays of fresh fish (there was another one with a similar name on Steinway Street (some years back), where you can select what type of fish you want to consume. When we entered, the place was packed, so we ordered the bluefish and red snapper up front. Our side orders were baked potatoes and crab cakes. The few items we ordered were costly, and we paid over $50 in cash....read full review
