Those rum infused beans really are something, especially in the Coquito (personal favorite)Plus, this space is big enough to work in which is great in itself. “787 is a Puerto Rican cafe with multiple locations around the city. I've been to a couple now, and I love this place! This location in Soho is quite small - there's only one bench with a couple of small tables. They have so many unique drinks here, and they have different alcohol-infused coffee beans too. If you like their beans, they do sell bags of them, but just a warning that they are quite expensive. My boyfriend got the coquito latte, and I got the chocolate chip cookie. The latte was really good! It was sweet, but not too sweet, and the coffee flavor wasn't overpowering even though it comes with a double shot. I didn't know that it would come in a cute pouch, so that was a nice surprise! It seems like the iced drinks come in the pouch, and the hot drinks come in normal cups. I didn't have high expectations for the cookie, but this has actually become one of my favorite chocolate chip cookies in the city. It's a very thick cookie, and it has huge chunks of chocolate in it, which I love. We did have to wait a while for the coffee since there was a line, and there was only one person working there. But I appreciate how this place stands out from all the other coffee shops in the city, and it is now one of my go-to cafes!“

The breakfast burrito is soooo yummy, the refried beans on it gives it that cali breakfast burrito taste. The bacon egg and cheese? Bomb. The pancakes? Fluffy and buttery and perfect. “Located on busy Broadway so street parking. Maybe have been lucky bec I usually get a spot when needed. Prices are good. Ube latte is a big cup at $5. Not too sweet for me. Chocolate croissant $3.50 was good warmed which made the filling gooey. Good space with small tables in front of the cafe and better in the back. Maybe could be cozier with dimmer lighting. “Amazing coffee, great pastries (the cheese turnover and the croissant were pretty good). The banana bread was the best- moist fresh and not too sweet! Even the mocha was good. Loved the vibe of the place especially if you come on a sunny day! I can see myself coming here on a Sunday with by laptop / book and spend hours. Which we actually saw with other customers! The only downside is that you may find it hard to find a spot to sit.“

“Plain and simple coffee spot. Modern vibe and cool plants. They have decaf options which is nice. We had an oat milk latte and a cold brew and split a quiche. All were yummy and the staff was super friendly. They have a little vintage rack of clothes and cute hats with kinship on them. Dog friendly, kiddo friendly, in general happy spot.“

“We found this place walking around the neighborhood. It’s unassuming, simple and an institution for the area.Last time we grabbed small bags of their organic roasts for home. We like doing pour overs and espresso. My partner specifically liked the Guatemalan bean for its blueberry notes. Pricing is average or medium low in consideration of the industry.Yes, you can’t really tell when the beans were roasted as they’re not on the bag, but we had no issues or concerns. It’s from an older more classic time where specialty coffee wasn’t a thing.We’ll always pick up a bag or 2 for ourselves on the way back out of nyc.“

“Found this place when looking for a new cozy coffee spot. My boyfriend lives in Flushing so this was close enough for us to drive to, and the crepes looked so good. We came in on a cold snowy day, and immediately felt the warmth of fresh coffee and sweet fluffy crepes. We also got a croissant sandwich which was one of our favorite breakfast foods lately. The owner, George, was so friendly, and we spent a while just chatting to him about shared interests and family life.If you’re looking for a welcoming place to enjoy some great food, yummy coffee, and where you’re supporting a small business instead of a corporation, Maillard is for you. “Big open windows so there's a lot of natural light. There are lots of different sizes of tables so you can work quietly by yourself or at bigger tables and benches for groups to gather.I'm not a huge fan of coffee but I love the smell of it. it's really cool that they roast their own beans! “I came here with a friend for breakfast. Usually I come to grab a latte to go but we stayed this day. The place is clean and spacious, and has lot of seating area. It was a bit crowded as many are working on their laptops. They have free wifi.We placed our orders quickly and grabbed a table. It didn't take too long before they brought the lattes and the food. The service was quick and everything was very tasty. I ordered the panino al Crudo and the focaccia was crunchy yet soft, nicely toasted. The mustard sauce adds a nice favor to the prosciutto and provolone cheese. Highly recommended. My friend had the egg sammy combo with hash brown and drip coffee. She upgraded to a latte. Her feedback is also everything is very tasty. It is a great place to hang with friends or grab a quick lunch. I'll bring friends next time if they are in my neighborhood.“

“Visited Bed Sty just to see where my parents grew up. Neighborhood has gotten much safer and much nicer than in my day. This great coffee shop on the corner, just up the block from where my grandfather’s butcher shop used to be was a fantastic rest stop on this visit. “All the Staff at Gillies Coffee,Just wanted to reach out and make a loud Shout out to Gillies for always doing what’s right by (me), their customer. Having placed an order yesterday morning for 10 pounds of Gillies DNS and Sumatra coffee and shoveling my walks and driveway, I settled in to have a cup and ponder a quiet snow day here in Greensburg PA, ahhhh.Shortly afterwards I received an e-mail notification from Gillies offering a 15% special on orders placed. While my initial reaction was , darn! I decided to send a return e-mail of my order confirmation with a request for the SNOW15 special and ask for it‘s application to my earlier order. Since the promotion SNOW15 clearly stated that prior orders were not applicable I felt my order would not qualify. We’ll I was wrong! This morning I received a credit for the 15%. That gesture of good customer understanding and service solidifies why Gillies is not only a great coffee roaster but a good company too!I want to say, being a coffee hound I have been brewing and serving Gillies coffee in my home for years. It’s always delicious and draws compliments and praise by my friends and relatives and I love their comments on Tim’s coffee. “Bean House is easily one of the best cafes in this area. I hope they expand because whenever I am here, it’s always packed! The coffee is delicious, I think I’ve tried 6 different variations now and they’re all amazing. The ambiance is cozy and I love their baked goods in the front. “I love this coffee shop because the barista are friendly and helpful even taking your coffee up to the second floor if you ask. The coffee itself is excellent and there is an artistic flare to the place that shows that someone who runs this shop, has a real designing eye but there is a problem. When the weather approaches 32°F it is absolutely freezing in this small two-story building. The barista is obviously cold and for a customer it is borderline unsafe. Otherwise this is a great place.“

“Kept me awake and focused in my work without any caffeine jitters. Never really felt any crash afterwards. The packaging it came in also very environmentally conscious as it poses no risk of ensnarement for any wild life although it does encourage to recycle the mechanism. Silky smooth taste too.“

“I’m suspicious of any bakery that has dozens of different pastries because all of it can’t be freshly made. Oasis falls into that category.While I’ve had plenty of things that taste a little old here, they have more hits than misses.I’ve tried and reviewed on my food blog 8 different items (and counting!) from Oasis. Mousse based desserts or desserts heavy in cream and sauces are my favorite. In Astoria we’re a little short on those kinds of pastries so Oasis is my go to. Their pistachio raspberry mousse and raspberry mousse cake are my favorite light and airy desserts. The fruit napoleon is right up there too.I’d skip the tres leches which was old and/or used whipped topping; and any of the fruit tarts, which were soggy bottomed and bland.Cake slices are hefty and prices are affordable. Staff is friendly. They have a couple small table you can stand at inside and a couple tables for sitting outside, but Oasis is more of a take out place.“

A narrow shop just chock full of all things coffee-roasters, grinders, espresso machines, Moka pots like nonna had on all day long, serving bowls & platers, & some many accessories.The complex aroma of the freshly roasted coffee is feast for the senses. And Marie is a force of nature as she greets, advises, and educates the customers that pack this this mainstay of Arthur Ave.Marie processed our order of of four big bowls that are going to be wedding presents in 2024 & to be shipped to our home. “I used to 'live' at the Brooklyn Roasting Company in Dumbo, pre-pandemic, and was thrilled when a branch opened behind the library in Brooklyn Heights, 100 yards from my apartment. Even though I make coffee at home, I always head over to this cosy spot. Great coffee of course, with a good variety of sweets and savories, but I mostly go for the staff, who are out of this world patient and friendly. They are very kind when large groups of students burst in, as well as to the rest of us. It feels like an old-fashioned cafe, in that I have met people to talk to about books and art, and chatted with visitors from foreign lands (Denmark, Colorado, Manhattan :) ...Once again, the baristas and managers create a wonderful atmosphere.“

My only complaint is that they didn't have the regular drip (Burundi honey processed) available for sale, I really wanted to take a bag home with me.
