“I only buy the chicken sandwich. I wanted 3. They only had 2 left. I asked them if they can make another one. They said they were closing in 20 mins. The cashier had that look in his eye like he was saving that last chicken sandwich for himself ??? i dont blame him. That chicken sandwich is wassup !!!!

Parking: The popeys is in front of a bus stop but theres parkding on the street all atound it.

She said I needed the full receipt to confirm that I had multiple dips. They have a big selection with fair prices and the employees are respectful / hard working. This is a goldmine my son has found. Haven't found a place like this since the 90,'s. He surprised me with Tilapia combo platter, with chicken fried rice. It was a lunch made in heaven. I was so overcome with happiness, joy and fulfillment after that meal. There was still leftover for dinner. It's the gift that keeps giving. I didnt have to cook I was able to reheat and eat. Uptown Wingz you've become my favorite restaurant. It doesn't matter that you are 100 blocks away from me, I will be your loyal customer. My youngest who is picky loves your hush puppies. Even my husband enjoyed your combo. The tilapia was extremely good. You give large portions. What more can I ask for? Oh yeah, the fried catfish is my next order with my chicken fried rice. Had the ribs, chicken, and shrimp combo with q side of beans and potato salad. Oh, and cornbread. Chicken and ribs falling off the bone, no need to use the knife. Shrimp are nicely sized, and coated in an excellent cornmeal batter. Sauce on the ribs and chicken is sweet and smoky, exactly what my ideal barbecue sauce would be. The wife had the pulled pork sandwich platter with a side of mac-n-cheese, all of which were excellent. The platter came with a tremendous amount of fries! This is a counter service establishment, and the girl behind the counter was upbeat and very friendly. The atmosphere is like of one of those Memphis homes that was converted into a restaurant; small amount of seating, and comfortable and friendly. “So my son Was in the New York fashion show. We was hungry my friend google food lol and this place popped up!! And let me tell you it might be small no seats either! We each got the 10 piece boneless wings and made them curly fry combos. I got the honey bbq and my bf got the oriental sesame. Both flavors were really good and portions were pretty large! We called ahead and the order was ready in about 10 mins. The inside isn’t necessarily not nice, but it’s not really a place I’d want to hang out for a while. After visiting this location for a few more times, I can give a more accurate review. Initial review was during the first week this place opened up.

The burger is not bad, has all the classics ingredients for a regular burger but for me too little meat. For a better meaty burger I recommend getting two patties. The single patty burgers leaves me feeling unsatisfied.

The fries from the last few times I orders has been bad. They are shoestring cut fries and it seems like they fry a bunch ahead of time and keep them to the side until needed. Some of them are hard as a pretzel and others limp.

Unfortunately the wings seem like they suffer the same fate, but with less flavor. It’s not common to get un-breaded halal wings in the Bronx (most of them are the tiny breaded ones from your local halal deli), but they are missing some marinade or something to bring it alive, besides drenching it with sauce.

The crispy chicken sandwich was very oily, and definitely double fried. Which means it was half fried before and left to the side until a customer orders one and they re-fry them. This makes the chicken rubbery and the breading dark brown and oily. I rather wait a few more minutes for a made to order chicken sandwich.

Being raised in the neighborhood, I was excited to have this place open up and wanted to make it regular place I go, to get my fix, but they have to work on some quality control before they have me be a regular. I really hope they listen to the customers concerns and revamp their process in the kitchen. I really want to see local halal businesses like this one succeed but the food has to be up to par.

“Went for Halal and Those small wings. Food was good. Wings we received were not what we wanted. Ordered 21 wings but they weren't the spicy ones we drove 30 minutes to get. The Halal was good as well. Only thing was we couldn't get a combo of meats (chicken and lamb). Also we didnt get white sauce as expected. Next time we know to request hot sauce and white sauce. As for the inside very small space. Probably 8 to 10 people at time in there. Surely couldn't dine in if you wanted to.“

Please do not order any food from Koko Wings by the delivery app. I would like to share my experience.
Nothing was delivered, and no refund was issued.
I will not order food from here in the future.

I ordered chicken around 11:45 PM, and it was not delivered. I called the merchant (the store) more than 10 times, but they never responded or resolved the issue. I also contacted Uber Eats customer service to share my experience, but no one provided a solution. Instead, they kept saying there was nothing they could do at the moment. How ludicrous. It is totally absurd—nothing was delivered, yet customer service could do nothing?

Why do you even exist? And on top of that, an order placed at 11:45 PM arriving at 2:50 AM? Do you think this is normal? Not at all—no one expects this when they order food. This is completely unreasonable and unacceptable; in fact, it was never even delivered.

I know Ubereats is experiencing significant cash flow issues due to excessive coupon and gift card discounts on Amazon, but the burden of your financial struggles should not be passed on to customer service and customer experience.

PS: This comment should be remained until Koko Wings or UberEats issues a refund. As we all know, Koko Wings close early, and you all can see when it was delivered at 2:55 a.m.

Added on Feb 16, 2025, 4:10 pm: I was able to speak with the owner of Koko Wings, and she provided the same food that I ordered yesterday at 11:50 pm. She sincerely apologized to me, explaining that technical issues with the delivery person were out of her control. She assured me that she would handle any non-delivery or delayed delivery issues promptly. I will keep this review for the public's interest and to protect potential customers from experiencing negative experiences with the delivery app.
I will change my review from one star to four stars. The reason is that the owner's attitude and service at Koko Wings were wonderful, but the service from Uber was unsuccessful. I will maintain 4 stars even though the food is delicious because I was starving at 4 am due to undelivered food. Even though UberEats said they understood my circumstances, they essentially did nothing and kept repeating that this was not a case that could be refunded, which was a ludicrous experience.

TL;DR: Food was amazing, but I will keep this at four stars due to the bad experience with the delivery app.“

“Everytime i come everyone is so nice & makes sure i leave happy. Although i came yesterday evening & these kids were in the lobby kind of harassing the guy behind the register over an order they didn’t want to confirm, the guy kept saying. He just kept asking them to confirm on the app & explaining to them why they had to do it but you could tell they didn’t care.
