“I attended a surprise party this Saturday evening. The cuisine was preselected, waiter service was excellent, should receive raises. The table arrangement was very poor. The party was downstairs in one of the private rooms. We were 25 people at one very long table, basically the length of the room, which made it difficult for guests to get around the seated persons at the head of the table on either side. Having two tables would have been a better arrangement, but one long table was not conducive for conversation since we were so far from the other end of the table. The food; not many complaints, I really didn’t have a problem. I didn’t have a lot of food, but it was delicious. The dessert, sorry not very good. Those Famous Crepes(palacinkes) sorry not that great. A lot of crepe and not a lot of filling. The dish was served with fruit, unfortunately this fruit was not in season, so the watermelon although it added color to the dish, upon tasting it, left much to be desired. Why not serve fruit that is in season? No offense to my party hosts who selected my menu for the evening, it didn’t lend itself to the 5 Star Reputation of Dubrovnik’s. I would like to make reservations and splurge on a dinner on my own, I have a feeling I would LOVE the experience! Btw, another plus was the parking!“

Food was outstanding.
We started with special mixed seafood in 2 large clam shells.
Dining partner had softshell crab (2) over linguini and he said it was the best softshell crab prep he ever had.
I had Chilean Sea Bass in a lobster bisque sauce with sweet potato crust over spinach.
Finished the meal with tartufo. Rich dark chocolate shell.
The chef has a flare for bringing out flavors with his combinations.“

“Relatively new location but Ive been going to Modern, old and new for almost 30 years....To say the food is INCREDIBLE still wouldn't cover it. It's by far, one of the very best Italian restaurants in the entire County, if not further. It NEVER fails to serve you the freshest, most delicious meals. I'm a huge fan of their Chicken and Veal Marsala and Francese...I decided to try their Shrimp Francese for a change of pace. Sure, Ive had many meals at many Italian restaurants in the "world famous Little Italy" sections of NY City...I have to honestly say, this was the absolute BEST dish Ive ever had the pleasure of enjoying. Coupled with the Linguine with REAL White Clam Sauce, which in itself was phenomenal, as well as a salad with Gorgonzola cheese that was spectacular. I had the pleasure of returning again just a few short weeks later, and politely told the waitress (who's service was fabulous) thay I didnt even need a menu....
Modern has been around for a LONG TIME. Originally, you felt like you were sitting in the basement of a friend's home, and the food was just beyond incredible. Now, in the newer location the only thing thats changed is the size. The food has gotten even better (tough to believe since it already was EXCELLENT). The great service, the way they make you feel like family, and the food continues to be incredible....Wherever you are, if you're planning on being near New Rochelle....Modern is DEFINITELY a place you cant pass by, so ENJOY !!!!!!

“So my boyfriend was looking for Japanese restaurants that have very good sushi to deliver from UberEats. We ordered at 7pm and the order finally came at 9pm. That’s pretty insane for a place to take that long and I know at times the uber eats driver will have other rides along the way but 2hrs is crazy when the restaurant is 17min drive from me. So the wait time was annoying but the sushi was good. What I didn’t like was that my vegetable gyozas came soft and warm. My sushi order came incorrect. I wanted 1 shrimp tempura and 1 sweet potato tempura. I got 2 orders of the shrimp tempura. Luckily it was good but since the food was a bit warm the crunchiness of the tempura was a bit gone. The sushi did taste good though! I definitely would like to dine in and try the food fresh because I hate being disappointed by food. Can’t wait to come in and try more of their dishes!“

The owners were welcoming and seemed to have a good raport with people who seemed to be their regular customers. They recommend the steak and beef tongue , and I also tried the chicken. Other popular ones were sold out, which is always a good sign.The food was fresh and had good flavor. I liked the beef tongue most, which was really tender and slightly gamey. Prices were also reasonable for the amount you get. The horchata was refreshing and not too sweet. The tables were dirty and when I asked for them to be wiped down, a dirty rag was used to do so.
The workers are pleasant enough, EXCEPT this one older man, who seems impatient and speaks to customers a bit harsh (very unnecessary)

The dinner rolls with cinnamon butter were to die for. I ordered the steak and shrimp with mashed potatoes and vegetables and it was absolutely divine. Although the general tso chicken combo i got yesterday was a bit heavy handed with the chili which is normally not as spicy. It is not normally as spicy and even tho this time was really spicy the flavor was good but since i had them deliver it to my boyfriend since he works vallet i didnt get to eat til an hr later and they were closed so i couldnt call so i had to switch with my boyfriend which he got sesame chicken combo and that was really good. This was the only time ive had any small complaints so next time i will remember to tell them less spicy just in case.Will definitely order again and again“
