Awesome neighborhood sandwich spot, one of the best in Manhattan tbh. If you're looking for quality ingredients, huge portions, and your own lil slice of Italy, Alidoro will not disappoint.
The Italian sandwiches here are good but they just don't have the same impact as the ones from Bensonhurst (Lioni's, Papa Pasquale, etc). I got the Pinocchio and really enjoyed the fig spread on semolina bread. Prosciutto + soppressata was a rather salty combination though. Roasted red peppers had a good texture and mellowed things out a bit but the mozzarella was kind of bland. Love the idea of a neighborhood Italian sandwich shop and this spot stands out for its unique charm and humor. Had the Daniela which was decent but not what I’d try again. Service was focused on efficiency which I can appreciate.
