Crispy Anise Duck Roll ($8) - didn't really taste much of any subtle anise flavor. Barely any duck, mostly fillers. Would suggest passing on this. Escargot ($8) - pieces not overcooked with subtle garlic flavor. Smelled more delicious than it tasted. Comes with thin slices of sesame coated bread. Lovely little quaint restaurant with gracious service. The fettuccine noir almost made me eat the plate. I will definitely be back sooner rather than later. The lemonade was so tasty.
"What is your favorite restaurant in all 5 boroughs?" No brainer. Aux Epices is the most incredible hole in the wall find not just in Chinatown, but in NYC. The husband & wife team who own the restaurants are super personable (not to mention SO ADORABLE together), and their tiny outpost is dripping with charm & ambiance, but most importantly the French Malaysian fusion that comes out of that kitchen is in contention for the most delicious food I've ever had.
