About Chef Tan

Based on customer reviews, Chef Tan serves bold, authentic Chinese flavors, especially Hunan/Sichuan dishes with real heat. The food is consistently flavorful, with generous portions perfect for family style meals. Popular dishes include the Braised Pork in Mao’s Style, which is fatty and savory, the Chongqing Style Fried Chicken, fried well, and the Fish, flavored well from the soup. The veggies are also solid, with the Eggplant and Cabbage cooked simply but tasting amazing. The MaPo Tufu is really good, and the steamed cabbage & glass noodles w. Garlic is described as unmatched and truly memorable. The spicy fish can feed at least 3 or 4 people. The menu goes well beyond typical takeout, offering a great variety that satisfies every person’s needs. The seating and environment are comfy and nice, and services are good. This place is a great spot for a family style meal with good Chinese food. One note: if hot tea is desired, it costs extra. Customers recommend almost everything except the jellyfish appetizer, as the texture was too hard.

Delicious food, great staff, friendly service.

Honestly the ambience is a little weird but the food is so good we don’t care.

Wonderful food and great service!
