Da Umberto offers an outstanding dining experience that remains one of the best in New York City. The food, bread, olive oil, and drinks are all exceptional. While the restaurant has had some inconsistent days, the overall quality of the cuisine is generally high. Standout dishes include the truffle ravioli, endive salad, and salmon carpaccio. Many customers appreciate the classy atmosphere and welcoming staff, noting the service as excellent. The chicken special is tasty, and roasted veggies are excellent. The manager was warm and attentive. The saltimbanco and paparadella with artichokes and leeks were prepared perfectly. Antipasti, risotto balls, and butternut squash pasta ravioli were all exceptional and flavorful. Entrees included filet, chicken parm, and a fish dish. The food and service here were top notch. It is a fine dining experience. Arrive hungry and definitely order the pasta and a meat dish. Service was impeccable. The food was outstanding and the service was incredible.
