When it comes to boba, some people prefer milk-based drinks and some, like me, prefer the fruitier tea-based drinks. HeyTea has quickly surpassed Debutea and become my new favorite place for a fruity afternoon pick-me-up. The space is pretty small, but the team works quickly to prepare your drinks and you can always order ahead and pick up in store. Despite it being a chilly 40F outside this store was packed and staff inside were cranking out drinks nonstop! I'm usually a little skeptical of fruit based drinks as they can be overly sugary or grossly artificial in flavor. Boy has HeyTea changed my mind. I got their #2 drink, Mango Grapefruit Sago. Boba store a little south of Times Square. My girlfriend and I ordered the Very Grape Heytea ($6.99) and Mango Grapefruit Sago (7.49). Both bobas were some of the best I’ve ever tried. It was the right amount of sweetness and tasted light and fresh - the fruit was very fresh. Though the price of boba is increasing, the prices here are well worth for what you get. Overall, I would rate this place a 10/10 - definitely going to be my go-to boba place in NYC.
