La Boca at Faena offers a beautiful space, delicious food, and a great atmosphere. The dining room is gorgeous and elegant, with comfortable velvet-y seating and live music playing in the background. The atmosphere is lively, convivial, and energetic.
The food is incredible. The breakfast includes the Toast of Grace with brioche, eggs, avocado, and salmon, as well as a green juice. For dinner, the octopus, tuna crudo, and scallops are outstanding appetizers—fresh and packed with flavor. The spaghetti is absolutely delicious, and the steak tower is a perfect centerpiece, cooked perfectly. The cocktails are expertly crafted and balanced. The Bibb salad is fantastic, the seabass is really good, and the passionfruit dessert is delicious. However, some experiences mention burnt food, including burnt gnocchi, burnt potatoes, and burnt carrots.
Service can be exceptional. Host Natasha is accommodating and patient. Servers Michele and Anton are described as kind, attentive, welcoming, fun, and professional, providing impeccable service. Michele is thoughtful, stylish, warm, and effortlessly welcoming. However, other service experiences have been poor, with an uninterested server and issues with the bill not being corrected as promised.
Overall, La Boca is hands down one of the best restaurants in NYC, though experiences can vary.
