La Fonda NYC Reviews
Had reservations for 10 people not enough food for everyone we had to look for another restaurant
Very disappointed since it was for a very special family reunion they never callled to let me know in advance ….

La Fonda NYC is a Puerto Rican restaurant with great service and atmosphere. The food is excellent, with dishes like pernil, rice, bacalaitos, and Mallorcas being highly praised. The guava desserts are also a highlight. However, some customers have experienced disappointing visits due to inadequate food, with the kitchen running out of certain items. The arroz con gandules has received mixed reviews, with some finding it disgusting and others enjoying it. The drinks are great, and the staff is friendly and welcoming. The owner is hospitable and provides excellent customer service. The restaurant has a great vibe, with live music and a clean environment. Some customers have had issues with reservations and seating, particularly on Friday nights when the restaurant hosts Chess Night. Despite some inconsistencies, La Fonda NYC is highly recommended by many, with some considering it the best Puerto Rican cuisine in the area. The shrimp Mofongo and sauce are also worth trying. Overall, La Fonda NYC is a great spot for those looking to try authentic Puerto Rican cuisine and drinks.
