Wierner schnitzel was dry and tastless string beans were of the frozen variety. tables so close together you could barely manuver to sit down or get up. Over the top decorated of course but I would definately call it a tourtist trap for the money.
Ate here yesterday. Found food bland. A real turn off was the mens room where the single sink and urinal were inches apart,

The Christmas decor in this place is absolutely gorgeous and stands in stark contrast to the mediocre food and rude wait staff. Made a reservation by phone two months before our visit. We were not told that everyone must order a full entree. My husband and son have hearty appetites and ordered full entrees, but my daughter wanted a bowl of soup and I wanted an appetizer for lunch. Rolf's values creating joyful experiences and offers a festive atmosphere with ornaments hung from the ceiling that can be almost overwhelming. The head staff member shows warmth and responsibility, making guests feel welcome. The food is better than expected, though some dishes, like the sausage platter, may be priced high for what they are, with sauerkraut and sausage not worth the cost but enjoyed for the atmosphere. The restaurant is not suitable for children. Despite some negative reviews about service, the overall experience, especially during lunch when there is no wait, makes Rolf's a unique place that cannot be found elsewhere in NYC. It is a must-visit for its one-of-a-kind Christmas light display and festive ambiance.
