About Streecha

Streecha is a restaurant located in an unassuming building's basement in NYC, offering a small menu of traditional Ukrainian comfort food. The menu features options such as borsch soup, varenyky (pierogi), stuffed cabbage, sausages, and cakes, all of which are homemade and delicious. The atmosphere is cozy and charming, making it a hidden gem worth visiting. The restaurant is mostly run by volunteers and only accepts cash, adding to its unique character. It is open on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday from 9am-5pm.

Recent reviews highlight the warm and homely atmosphere, making guests feel like they are visiting good friends. Many have enjoyed the delicious food, particularly the borscht with sour cream and the potato dumplings, which evoke nostalgic memories. Portions are generous, and prices are fair. While some customers have experienced inconsistent hours, the friendly and welcoming staff continue to serve food quickly and with care. Overall, Streecha remains a lovely spot that many are eager to return to.

It's good ukranian food in a basement. What the hell more do you want?

Great no frills Ukrainian food. Served on a plastic tray like the stolovayas of old.

The atmosphere was pleasant. The food was good, definitely try the stuffed cabbage. The beets soup surprisingly good. If you're into trying different cultural foods, go there! I love sweets and thought the desserts were great. No pics of the desserts forgot that part.
