I dined solo on a Friday night, taking the omakase menu. Each item was delicious and unique. Very clever combinations of ingredients that combine perfectly, yet complimenting, nor overpowering the fish. So good I ordered a few pieces a la carte to finish my evening. Great service, fun environment. Congratulations Sushi Kai team.

Was able to book a res for 8pm on Friday day of and was incredible and BYOB! It was pretty packed but we were swiftly seated and served. The inside is fairly small but really nicely decorated and they have outdoor seating. The omakase was delicious, filling, and not too pricey. The scallops in the trio appetizer were my favorite but everything was super flavorful and different from each other. The staff was super attentive and very friendly as well! Would definitely return!

Outstanding omakase menu, super knowledgeable and kind chefs (they were very good at dealing with my wife’s many allergies). Would highly recommend this

Came here for a special anniversary dinner with my fiancé and we loved it here! Every piece of sushi that came out was so flavorful and the fish itself was so soft that it would melt in your mouth. For the price, it's definitely worth it and we will be back very soon!

Cute place, sushi is very solid and interesting but not enough courses to fill you up. The place itself is tiny and doesn't look very good, lights are too bright and walls are empty.. They precut all the fish which is a bit weird and use an air fryer and toaster-oven to warm up some of the dishes. The worst part was when they asked us to leave as soon as the last fish was served less than 55 minutes after we sat down. $303.19 for 2 people omakase and one cheap bottle of sake (including tax and service)

Embarked on my first Omakase experience at Sushi Kai, and it exceeded all expectations. Reservations were a must for this hidden gem, accommodating around 10 people at a time. The Omakase journey was a flavor explosion, leaving my taste buds thoroughly impressed. The restaurant exuded great vibes with beautiful lighting and decor. The chefs were incredibly helpful, providing detailed explanations that enhanced the overall experience. Sushi Kai is a must-visit for those seeking a delightful blend of exquisite taste, ambiance, and expertly crafted sushi.

Amazing food, service, and the chef made our anniversary night feel so special. The omakase had great variety and was priced very fair. I was actually full after this omakase meal and would definitely go back. Definitely worth a visit out of all the omakase spots in NYC!

Overall did appreciate the flavors. But found the service to be very awkward. Lots of chaos and confusion. didn't love the trio app at beginning and found the fish piece to be quite small. Was still hungry after.

Delicious, first of all. All the ingredients felt pretty high quality. It’s definitely great bang for you buck. My favorite course of the omakase was the hamachi with torched shishito peppers, soooo good. My only concern is that there were way too many courses with truffle, felt a bit overdone. So worth a try!

Sushi Kai lands smack dab in the middle; its good quality for the price, the space is simple and beautiful, and overall should go.The omakase, overall, is simple and there wasn't too much in a stand out piece. As you can see on the pictures, the there is no wipedown of the plates between pieces. Service overall was nice, and e didn't feel rushed, which is def a point above some other omakase spots in the same price range.

By far one of the best Omakase spots in NY. Small and intimate atmosphere with the most unique pieces! The service was top notch as well.
