Nestled on a quaint street in Greenwich Village, this restaurant was our favorite of the week. We shared delicious dishes like Rarebit, Carrots, Spoon bread and Brussel sprouts. The roast chicken was amazing! The atmosphere is warm and charming, like you've stepped back in time. While very busy on a Saturday night, it was easy to talk and relax at our table. Can't wait to go back!
On the menu is bone marrow on thick, rustic bread heaped with chicken-of-the-woods mushrooms, and jugged rabbit with shallots. The hearty, offbeat food may not be for everyone, but it’s certainly an original.

It feels like stepping into an old pub (intended). It has a warm vibe and friendly staff. The Black Duck Porter was an excellent beer. They have a small but focused cocktail menu, the drinks were spot on. The food was delicious – the fried oysters and pickled oysters specifically for starters. On veg, I highly recommend the buttermilk & squash special (if it's there) as they were fantastic.
