The sad thing is that once you start eating pastries from here, nothing else is the same. It really sets the bar high. The cheesecake, tiramisu, sfogiatell and cannoli are some of the best in the world. Don't sleep on the coffee either.
Veniero’s has been a beloved spot on my list for some time. Lately, there’s something up with management. The service is inattentive. I asked for the menu (to order an additional item), and no one came back to see if we wanted something else. We gave up, waited for the check for at least 15 minutes, and no one came over. Another time we were here until closing and instead of doing last call, they just gave us the check and kicked us out. We made an order on the way out including...
Old-school cafe bakery. Very cool vibe. I think there is intrinsic value in preserving places that have been around for so long.
Walk in with a swagger and imagine yourself to be Frank Sinatra, Enrico Caruso, Joe DiMaggio, or Bruce Springsteen, casually ordering a cannoli.
That being said, their famous butter cookies—honestly—meh. Go for a slice of pie or something.
