Zesty Tabbouleh is a hidden gem in the East Village, offering some of the best Lebanese food. The food is SO good, and the staff is friendly with fast service. The space has lovely vibes, a calm, warm, understated elegance that feels like a breath of fresh air. It is the kind of place to sit down and talk with friends, no yelling over noise. The grilled dishes and fish are great, and the mezza selection is especially good. The Batata Harra is a particularly excellent version, with a well-balanced mix of sour and heat. The Labneh is a bit fancier than usual, with apricot adding a uniquely fun sweetness. The Royal Belief features aromatic rice as the star, with a large mix of spices and tender grilled lamb. The mahlabeyeh is perfectly smooth, the shish kabab is juicy, and the hummus pesto is a unique and flavorful twist. Presentation is amazing, but the taste beats presentation. The drinks are mocktails and $4 coffees. The meal finishes perfectly with mint tea and pudding. This is a place worth coming back to every time, as they deserve all the praise before it is too difficult to get into.
