My husband and I stopped in for the first time yesterday when we were in a desperate time crunch to get some cookies to bring to a birthday party where we were asked to bring dessert. The place is small, the Decour is more on the not-refined side although it is possible that they are going for a retro 1950s feel, because it does look like it's a little local cookie place from the past. Stopped in here with a friend while walking around Northport for the day. We saw cookies in a casing and practically broke the door down! We got two big cookies to share, a linzer tart and a chocolate crinkle cookie. Let me just say the chocolate cookie was pure heaven... soft.. but chewing at the same time... and just the perfect amount of everything... pretty thick as well. We were going nuts over that one! This Northport cookie shop is going to make me so fat! Went in to check out this tiny little place during the Cow Harbor festival and I'm glad I did because it's a real find. Tried a sugar cookie that was soft and delicious. Equally good are the decorative cookies as well. Not too sweet and very tasty. Can't wait to go back. Prices are decent and the staff were helpful. Recommended if you're in the mood for a confection.
