Comfort Food Restaurants near Ossining, NY

“I don't usually write reviews on Google but I feel compelled to write in support of Lisa, Dan and The Tasty Table. My husband and I are frequent weekend guests at The Tasty Table because we like the food and the way we are treated as guests. I've noticed some less than positive reviews focused on difficulties getting a table during their busiest weekend times. This should indicate to all who are interested in going to The Tasty Table of how wonderful a restaurant it is. My suggestion is to take advantage of the 30 minute call aheads that are offered. You won't be disappointed!“

“Great place to kick back with some friends and enjoy a brew or some way better than expected food! It's loud, often crowded, and seating is hard to find, but if you stick it out, you'll be rewarded with some surprises like maple wings, and a great burger and fries. Pulled pork and fish tacos were less impressive but service is always fast and the man who runs the show will do everything in his power to make you happy. Party on!“

“A tiny little oasis tucked away on Camptown Road in Ossining. Very charming, decor, immaculate, great, brunch, ( we both had the huevos rancheros, which was outstanding). The reason for the four stars is that service here is exceptionally slow. In fact there's a full chalkboard up in the front asking people not to get nasty to be nice to the servers, etc. I can see why. The kitchen is very tiny. This place is always packed. The menu is far too long for a place with such a small kitchen. They should go with their best Sellers eliminate all the thousands of ingredients they need to make all these different items that they feature and just get out there. Wonderful fabulous food. My sister and I came at 10:15 a.m. on a Sunday. The restaurant was full, but we were seated fairly quickly. Once we ordered at 10:27 coffee and a biscotti were brought right away. They were giving out the biscotti as a little teaser. It was delicious. at 10:57. We asked one of the weight staff to please check on our order. She said to us you ordered at 10:27 so it will be a while.. The kitchen is very busy. Someone needs to train the white staff to at least say I'm going to check on it now. I'm sorry your order is taking longer. The kitchen is very backed up right now. She could“

“Delicious food, my steak frites sandwich was cooked perfectly. The atmosphere is exactly what you want for a quick lunch, family dinner after little league, or at night with some good music and drinks.Parking: In a strip mallKid-friendliness: Nothing offensive, just a good place to eat.“

“This is a good restaurant to go to if you’re on a budget and you’re craving some authentic Latin food. The portion sizes are huge, they can feed two people but some dishes can even feed up to three. The locals who frequent this restaurant are Hispanic men who go there mostly to drink, needless to say the beers are also inexpensive. The locals won’t bother you, they mind their own business. If you aren’t familiar with Latin culture, just know it’s not out of the ordinary for locals to announce hello and or goodbye/enjoy your meal to everyone in a place as they enter or leave. Especially if this place is small, like this restaurant. The waitress was a little inattentive but other than that my wife and I enjoyed our experience.“

“We went tonight on Feb 26 2024 and everything was amazing! Really good. The fried green tomatoes are so good I never had something with a flavor Like that. You have to just go and see for yourselves. Because I can't explain the flavor.. I'm not doing it any justice.....The place was very clean and the staff was very helpful and Courteous. My family and me will defiantly be going back. In fact I can't wait. Actually my whole family can't wait to go back, they all enjoyed everything they ordered!!!!!“

“We loved this restaurant...everything was exceptional..BUT..it is loud. Table of 4 and three of us have hearing problems...seniors ya'know! The staff was so nice and helpful ..got us a table where it was a bit less noisey. The food is outstanding. We're going back when the outdoors patio is open!“
