“Update on Review!!

UPDATE: It’s been about five years since my original review, and Mordi’s has definitely earned our business back. The food is still fantastic, and ordering through the app has made the busy lunch rush much easier. It’s once again a go-to for our office lunches. 🥪🔥

The Chicken Parm, Buffalo Chicken, and Crazy Cuban are some of our favorites. There can still be a wait because this place gets BUSY, but our recent experiences have been much better. Glad to have Mordi’s back in the lunch rotation!

Old Review

I was torn over writing this review. I have eaten a Mordi’s a number of times since it is extremely close to my office. They are a busy place the food is always good. However they need to take a moment and work on their customer service. We recently placed a big order for our Friday lunch, when we returned to the office we realized one sandwich was missing. We immediately called the shop as we got into the car. As soon as they picked they placed us on hold for five minutes without even given us a chance to tell them why we were calling. When they returned to the phone they said they are not taking any phone orders because they were busy and hung up the phone on us again without even hearing their customer our.

When my partner entered the shop and asked who hung up on us the woman behind the counter half heartily apologized. I’m sorry with so many great lunch options in this area Mordi’s will have to treat their customers with more dignity and respect before my office gives them any of our business.“

“The owner or guy at the front was a pleasure to meet and clearly understands the benefit of eye contact and customer service. I ordered the cheese steak. The sandwich itself was juicy, flavorful and nice sized for the price. My issue is I wish they would wrap the sandwich in parchment paper cut in half and then wrap in the foil wrapper. The sandwich is juicy but sloppy and drips everywhere. If it were wrapped better you could enjoy the sandwich like a gentleman. Enjoyed overall and on another note I give this brother big respect. He employs all black men. And as one I love seeing that. Respect brother!“

“A calm and pleasant spot for lunch.

I came during the afternoon and the place was quiet.
The staff was very friendly and even asked how the meal was at the end.
Note: It’s self-service.

Food: The hand-pulled noodles and broth were fresh and excellent.
The fried side dish was crispy and flavorful.
Drink: The iced black tea with mango was light and very refreshing.
Tip: As you can see in the video - the portions are very generous.
I recommend ordering a small size because I couldn’t finish it.

Seating: I sat by the window facing the street. It was nice to eat and watch Broadway at the same time.
There’s also an inner bar table closer to the kitchen.
The place is clean and the surrounding area feels calm and safe.

Price: Very affordable and filling.
This was my first time trying authentic Chinese food and I was pleasantly surprised.
Highly recommend and worth saving for a real local meal.“

“I hadn't had a fat sandwich in a long time and this Fat Knight sandwich today hit the spot. The sandwich is a generous size and the prices are reasonable. I also love the little sitting area outside where you can just eat and enjoy the surroundings.“

“Wow! After looking at many places on Columbus that just didn’t thrill us, we were SO happy to find the incredibly delicious Mexican cuisine at Nina’s last night I had the Cochinita Pibil (with an orange habanero salsa on the side that will let you know who’s boss…) and my old friend had Enchiladas Mole with chicken. Excellent and authentic food with warm, friendly staff, and a great bar selection with many tequilas. Nina’s is great! Reasonable too! Glad to give credit where it’s due to this 7mo old establishment that I hope stays for many years! Will return for more!“

“This place is a fun bar that plays wonderful retro throwbacks. Evan the bartender is the absolute best. I highly recommend you stop by for a drink if you're in the neighborhood. They have a wonderful selection of wine and beers that are constantly changing.“

“Came here for dinner. Had the oxtail ragu with a spring mix salad and mezcal Negroni.

The atmosphere is great. Intimate setting accompanied by light jazz. The food is good. Salad was fresh. Service is great. I’d recommend this spot to anyone.“

“I had the pleasure to eat at Konoz. It is a clean and neat restaurant. The owner is friendly and pleasant. I asked him what he recommended and I placed the order to eat inside. The meat was tender and tasty, the salad was a good portion and trifongo was delicious. I chatted briefly with the owner. It’s a place I would go again when in the area.“

“We recently stopped by to check out The Common's new wine bar - The Uncommon Wine Bar.

The food and drinks were great. It amazing how they transition the space every day from a day time restaurant to a very classy and cozy wine bar. All the apps our group tasted were excellent. There is a nice selection of wine by the bottle and by the glass and a few beers and coffees available as well.

All seating is at tables (i.e., there is no bar) which makes the atmosphere quite relaxed. There are no entrees per se, but we managed to make a full meal out of the apps and charcuterie available. The service was great, very pleasant and attentive.“

“The spicy chicken biscuit omg toooooo die for so my husband and I saw many people entering this spot plus it was our first time. We heard mac and cheese, greens, and fried chicken. So we got a bucket of mixed chicken, two sides of Mac and cheese, and some collard greens (they make them with black eyed peas and tomatoes; totally different from any kind of greens I ever had and I definitely was left craving more. Nice little spot and such friendly people. Heading back very soon“

“I have enjoyed eating at Aurora many times since 2010 with my wife, friends and family.The food and service is always consistently good. But when I went this week, I found myself disappointed that they did not serve bread. The waiter told be they do not do it anymore with no explanation. It may be a small thing, but it was significant for me.“

“We came to New York for a few days and had an amazing Brunch at Old John’s Diner. The coffee (an important factor!) was amazing, and the food delicious! Also the decoration is very beautiful. “What a delightful little breakfast/brunch place!!! We went here straight from the airport on our way into town, luggage and all, and it was perfect! We sat in the little outside area with the fans because the A/C was broken inside. My mom ordered the Grey Dog’s Breakfast with her eggs scrambled, French toast, and bacon, and it’s served with home fries. I ordered the egg and cheese croissant minus the parsley (not my fave) and added bacon. I’m picky about my home fries, so the server offered me french fries instead. We had exactly zero complaints about our meal. The portions are big, the eggs and bacon were cooked perfectly, and the French toast had this sweet butter with it that I can’t even compare to anything because it was so unique and delicious. The home fries ended up being DELICIOUS. The French fries were also good. I enjoyed the seasoning on them as well. I’m not a big fan of the thing shoe string fries, but these were good! The three employees we encountered were all very friendly and I would be more than happy to eat here again any time.“

“Love this place!!! We come for dinner on the regular. Chill ambiance, delicious food, friendly service, and good Korean beers (in cute chilled glasses).

Favorites: Padak (fried chicken w scallions), kimmari, tteok-bok-ki. The bibimbap with bulgogi and a fried egg is also great.

If you like banana flavor, they make a really nice banana milk latte during the day.“

“I only have one word for the delicious and tasty food I just had: Fantastic! I want to eat like that every day! I opted for a delivery from Wonder and was looking for something satisfying for my diet and I’m glad I tried DIG INN, the delivery was fast and the order was accurate since I chose the “Make Your Own Bowl” option. I went for: Steak, char-chicken, sweet potatoes, avocado, carrots and a lemon wedge. The recipe for a healthy and protein rich meal! It was so great I seriously thought of having another round at it as soon as I finished. Now I know where to order when I need a protein-filled dinner! Great discovery, can’t wait to order again! This was exactly what I was looking for today!“

My waitress was Sammie and she was the most attentive and sweet and helpful waitress ever !! Make sure you ask for her when you go I promise you she will give you the best experience . “I was introduced to The Handpulled Noodle by my daughter when she lived near their Hamilton Heights location. She moved to West Harlem and I was happy to find this location just a few blocks away. The food is consistently good. The portions are generous. The service has always been excellent. In a city filled with good places to eat, this will always be on my list of stops when I visit.“

“I have been looking for great tacos and happy hour drinks in this neighborhood for a while, and this is the spot! Sit at the bar, order the Tacos del Dia (you can order a combo of different ones) and enjoy. Such an obvious pleasure that few places get right anymore.“
