“FRESH!! That's our takeaway!! The menu is extensive and tastefully imaginative. The service and staff were polite, professional, and efficient. The customer flow never stopped, and at times, the line went to the doors, whether to go or dine in. And despite this steady flow, the staff never missed a beat. They were clearly accustomed to this and worked well together. From the front end to the kitchen. They have it together. We sat and noticed how clean everything was. The floor, restrooms, counter, and what I could see behind it. Most tables were full, but empty were all clean. In less than 10 minutes, we had our shakes and burgers. They look wonderful. Just looking at it was a good thing. Nice presentation. But that first bite said it all! FRESH! And it clearly shows and tastes. What a great burger! Fresh vegetables, fresh bun, and fresh meat. What a great burger! Did I say that again? Well....Because it was! The fries were equally fresh and enjoyable. The shakes are nice and creamy as well. I'm 64 and retired with my background in fast food and restaurant management. It is apparent to me both from a customers point of view and understanding the other side of the counter and all it entails to run a successful food establishment that much time, though, and effort has gone into providing an above average, enjoyable meal, at a reasonable and affordable price that doesn't break the customer or the owners wallet. “Visited today for their BBQ. The brisket ($8) was delicious. My husband had a burger ($7) and said it was good. The views are incredible. After we ate, we paid $5 for a sheers deposit and picked some sunflowers and zinnias. We then bought a few veggies and fruits from the roadside stand. The deposit was taken off the total. I'm sad we didn't get any ice cream, but we are definitely going to come back for the rodeo next year so we will have to try it then!“
“Staff is so friendly! It's a wonderful farmers market! The ladies were very nice tonight and even hooked Addy up with a cherry on top! They have so many great baked goods, refrigerator options and plenty of snackies. The ice cream is hard and in cone or cup. Lots of flavors. We love this stop! “Food is fantastic, large portions. Service is very good too. We brought our grandson with us for breakfast he had a great time. They even gave him a special bendie straw and a huge bowl of whipped cream to go with his yummy chocolate chip pancakes.“
“Stopped for ice I had banana cream pie ice cream and my companion had plain old vanilla. Both were good and reasonable priced. We both had size small that were huge. It's an old type ice cream stand that has been in Matamoras forever. My parents used to bring us when we were kids and I'm old as dirt. Would definitely recommend a visit.“
“It's a Dairy Queen so you know what you are getting. Felt that the service was good for the three visits I have made there in the last two months. Hot food was consistent and fresh. Milk shakes were what you would expect from them. I was able to play an arcade game while I waited for my food so that was cool. Place looked like it was clean. Freezer seemed stocked with an ample supply of DQ items.. I have nothing to complain about so a 5 star it is. If you like DQ this once is worth stopping at.“
“I have lived here for about 8 years now. This is by far the best place for deserts and ice cream, locally, better than all ice cream places around. If you want to eat food, bugers , etc, this place is great, too. This is great treat. All the ice creams are fresh, homemade, good stuff for ice cream. Clean and cute place to sit and eat or to hang outside in beautiful weather. The is young, but respectful and do thier best, even when it gets crowded and sometimes they run out of items, but there is alwys other options to chose from. My favorites are too many to mention, but my go to is peanut butter sundae. I coud go on and on. Check it out , just know , there will be lines most weekends, especially in summer. 5 stars!Wheelchair accessibility: They should work on this , but when I can't walk it is always nice to spend time in the car having ice cream with husband , and enjoying the view. I know this is a tough one to tackle, I understand, it's an old house.“
