Ask Alita is a cozy and welcoming wine bar in Queens, owned and operated by local people. The space is beautiful, with a comfy couch and a great wine selection that is interesting without being overwhelming. The snacks are excellent, including a killer Caesar salad, yummy bread, a perfectly simple arugula salad, and a great cheese and meat platter. Guests enjoy trying new wines, like a Vino Verde and Chenin Blanc, and appreciate the excellent recommendations. The place is a little pricey, with a $28 charcuterie that is not a lot of meat or cheese. It is great for a date night, yapping with a best friend, or a solo adventure. The namesake owner, Alita, is kind, warm, inviting, attentive, and personable, making it a neighborhood staple.
