“I saw excellent reviews of this diner and had to see if it lived up to the hype (it did!) Lakeside Haven is located on Lake Avenue in Charlotte, not far from the Britton Road Library. It's small, bright, and clean, with seasonal decor mixed among the lighthouse theme. There is a parking lot offering maybe 10-12 spaces. You can probably find street parking too, luckily we were able to get a parking spot. We were seated right away and asked for our drink order. The breakfast menu is large and there is a specials board too. My husband ordered the cinnamon roll pancake special and I tried a bite (really tasty). They came with a drizzle of sweet sauce and whipped cream. I went with eggs, toast, and home fries, which were nice and crispy but not burned. The coffee was excellent, especially compared to all the crappy diner coffee I've had in my life. This was not that! Service was friendly and fast. We had a great experience here and will be back.“

The picture of the empanada is filled with beef, cheese and sweet plantain!! Wow! The ladies that took care of us so nice and friendly. “This place is awesome, fast, affordable especially with a family of 5 and the food is delicious. The only thing I question is the kids meal comes with free ice cream if they're good. Both times we went we had to ask for it. The scoops of ice cream as a dessert are expensive so I don't know if they're trying to save on cost. It'd be nice to be asked if they want it. “Our first time at this place. We heard the fish fry was good and it was. As was the broiled haddock. We sat at the bar and were very pleased with the two bartenders as well as the hostess/waitress. All hard working and friendly. The vibe is nice too. The bartender said the place has been a bar since the 1800's and Dicky's for decades. A good mix of young and old in the crowd. We definitely will be back and recommend it to others.“
“This cozy family diner is busy on weekends but worth the wait. The endless coffee and friendly staff always make a great start for the day. They are cash only but have an ATM there. It's decorated with funny signs on the walls to read and enjoy. Love going there for breakfast. My favorite omelet is the Parkway. It has a little of everything. I also love the "hot sauce" which is a homemade meat sauce meant for hamburgers. I get a side of it and smother my omelet with it. This is a nice family diner with lots of choices to please everyone“
“My lady truly loves the Rueben, we drive clear across town for it. The staff has to be some of the most welcoming, kindest and attentive people I ever had serve me. “This is a Rochester staple that we are lucky to have back! The way they do their stake subs are the inspiration for my steak sandwiches on my food truck. I made some time to stop in last week and was glad I did! the food was as delicious as I remember it being. the service was impeccable. from the security guard to the cashier to the men cooking. Made me feel at home. The lemonade was absolutely perfect as well. if I could rate them 10 stars I would!“
