Sodam Reviews
Hands down my favorite korean/restaurant in general in the roc area. I’ve been coming here consistently for over 6 years now. I am korean, and this is closest to my grandmothers cooking. I cannot say good enough things about this place. The servers are great, the food is delicious every single time, and the restaurant is cute/cozy. You get what you pay for and more, portions are huge.
Best local Korean I have had, hands down. Nothing comes close.
Super delicious food and a cozy and clean environment. I got the weekly special which was an individual serving of Budae Jjigae and it was fantastic. Right level of heat, served boiling hot and fresh. I don’t live close but I would absolutely go back the next time I’m in their area!

Sodam is a Korean restaurant in Rochester known for its good food and welcoming atmosphere. Orders and drinks are handled efficiently, though large groups may experience some delays in receiving their dishes. The staff is great, and many customers appreciate the delicious food, with a wide variety of options available. The interior space is average, but the service and cuisine more than make up for it. Some reviewers recommend calling ahead to avoid long waits, while others highlight the restaurant's value and quality. Located in an area surrounded by industrial buildings and facing loading docks, it has a hidden gem feel. The restaurant is especially praised for its quick and amazing service.
The menu includes popular dishes like Bulgogi with rice and Chicken Katsu, both served in generous portions. Other favorites include Mandu dumplings that are crisp and light, and sweet and spicy wings that offer a delightful mix of heat and deep flavor. Bibimbop beef is also a great choice, known for its nice spice and flavor, and it comes with four small side dishes (banchan) that are all tasty. However, some traditional options like Kalbi and Gajamtang may be sold out at times. The food is fresh and ordering shrimp shumai steamed by request is common. The atmosphere can be cozy, especially during less busy times when it is calm and quiet. Overall, Sodam remains a worthwhile destination for anyone looking to enjoy authentic Korean cuisine.
