I think the Latta Rd Wegmans comes so highly rated because, as an older late-80s/early-90s vintage store, it still has the perfect mix of not-too-big but not-too-small; comfortable, cozy, warm feeling; shorter drop-ceilings vs tall open warehouse feel. Newer and bigger Wegmans are not always better. I love Latta Rd and Ridgemont but Mt. Read drives me nuts. Nor does older and smaller mean poorer selection or quality. As an out-of-towner now, I miss Wegmans and all of the great things it has to offer. When you walk in, you can't help but be excited by the prospect of grocery shopping. There are so many possibilities of finding cool ingredients, or meal ideas, on every aisle. For those who shy away from cooking, their prepared food sections offer great values and tasty offerings. A nice location we've never been to.. an easy layout I wished East Ave had. The staff is always good and I found that I did not get all wiggy walking thru the store. The customers seem pretty cool and everyone has manners a plus. Wegmans knows how to do it right. Duh. Large parking lot. Enjoy .
