Mahal has fast become my wife and my favorite restaurant on Long Island. Growing up i was always told Indian food was “spicy” so I had always been sort of scared to try it. Akbar was my first experience with Indian food and they're great but Mahal is next level. Last night Mahal was as full as I've ever seen it. As usual, every dish we ordered was outstanding. I hav only been there once but I think it's safe to say best Indian restaurant on Long Island. The food was phenomenal, the service was great, even the owner came around and had a nice convo with us. We are vegetarian so I can't speak on the meat dishes but everything we had was delicious. Best garlic naan I ever had, the dishes were bigger than I expected for the price, and none of it was greasy or spicy (we asked for mild).
