“We are full-time wedding photographers who did not have the pleasure of working at the Glen Island Harbour Club until January 2025. Winter weddings can be tough if you are not at an iconic location with extensive interiors conducive to photography meant to maximize the natural and ambient light, but in this case, it was perfect! The bridal suite was stupendous and the guys had a perfect place to get ready, too. All the areas had a lot of daylight considering it was the darkest time of the year and were elegantly furnished. The spaces all complimented the chosen scarlet red and classic tux look. We went outdoors for a bit despite the cold and windy day and loved the views of the water. Everywhere we went the staff was perfect for our couple, their family and friends, and us as vendors. We had scouted the venue beforehand, but we did not realize just how much room we’d have to work with - especially getting ready, taking spectacular shots on the staircase and in the lobby, during the ceremony even with so many guests, and for the reception with a huge dance floor. The food during cocktail hour was absolutely amazing with seemingly limitless options for everyone. The venue staff made sure we had a nice meal as well while checking in on the little things we love such as ensuring we’re set for the entrances and knew the itinerary for the reception. And again, this was our impression during the most difficult time of the year! I cannot imagine how extraordinary the property is during warm seasons, but we hope to find out soon. While this is written from the perspective of a small business owner, this is an unbiased and unsponsored review, and we appreciated the sensational first visit with hopefully many more to come. “We got married here this past week on 5/1/25, and I don't think there are enough nice things I can say about Whitby Castle. Niki and Ralph made everything so unbelievably easy for us the entire time from booking to the days after our wedding. Roxy was my bridal attendant, and she made sure my husband and I were never without a drink. They brought all our cocktail-hour food upstairs for us so we could eat in peace and relax. Niki was so easy to communicate with for the entirety of the planning process. Every single question we asked of Ralph, who doubled as our maître d’, got answered and was perfect. We had so much fun at our reception, and it was so helpful to have Ralph there guiding and directing us every step of the way. It was so easy to coordinate dropping off and picking up all of our decor the week of the wedding. There were so many details, which can be overwhelming on your wedding, but with Roxy, Ralph, and Niki (and the entirety of the staff!!) everything was so seamless and like a well oiled machine. I am so unbelievably appreciative of everyone at this venue and cannot recommend Whitby Castle enough!!“

“Chef Jaime catered an outdoor party I hosted this week and she did a fabulous job. Everything from the presentation of the food to the food itself ( delectable) to the passing of wine and dessert to the clean up ( she left my kitchen spotless) was exceptional. My guests could not stop raving about the food for the entire afternoon (and for days afterwards!). She was also very intuitive about what was needed in the moment. And she and her assistant worked completely independently so I was able to enjoy my party. I recommend her most highly.“

“Food is delicious! Would recommend the sautéed chicken, sea scallop risotto, linguine bolognese, marinated skirt steak, homemade mac and cheese or the buttermilk chicken sandwich. Unique dessert option that the kids loved was campsite s'mores where they can roast marshmallows at the table with a personal little fire. Service was friendly and knowledgeable. Overall atmosphere was nice with larger parties able to be accommodated in a larger, brighter room while main dining room was more cozy with smaller booths/tables and darker ambiance. Parking is tight, but there is a larger municipal lot across the street. Can't wait to go back!“

“I just had my wedding here on December 7th. The whole process went off without a hitch. J was my go to girl for all of my needs and she was so focused on making my day the perfect day. My guests said the food was phenomenal and the prices they offer you cannot compete with ! It was the most perfect day and was truly like a fairytale. “From 1 chef to another, I absolutely taste the love! Food is absolutely delicious. Butter chicken melted in my mouth. Lamb spring rolls might be one of the best things I've ever eaten. I ordered on uber eats and didn't realize my delivery person was coming from New Rochelle to deep in the Bronx, during rush hour. My food was still hot and fresh. “Love it! Delightful people, their service and interactions were uncommonly genuine, and such a pleasant environment. Ordered two lobster rolls, one of each kind, and they were both very good. The salad was wonderful! Love the dressing they use! The location is within easy reach of the HPN airport — a plus for my travel habits — and the area is a very pleasant one to either drive or walk around in. Street parking can be a little tight, but welcome to the northeast. Definitely worth the return!“

He created a fantastic menu and was able to accommodate all dietary restrictions while keeping the meal, smooth, consistent, and absolutely delicious. I was in search of a great chef to come to our home and cook a surprise 60th birthday dinner for my husband and came across Chef Abyssinia with a Google search that turned up with many 5-star reviews. I called immediately and was fortunate she was available. It was a pleasurable experience from start to finish and if I could give more than a 5-star review I would. She is a warm, friendly, and incredibly talented chef who takes great pride in her work as was displayed by the preparation and deliciousness. I would go as far as saying it was one of our top 5 meals ever and we are big foodies. “Sam's is consistantly terrific! My guests and I are no longer young, and we were offered 2 tables, 1 in the private area near the host and 1 in the larger restaurant area. “Major company event.  Cocktail hour with drinks, selection of crudite, cheeses, fruit and roaming appetizers.  For the roaming apps, I tried the mini lobster rolls, mozzarella brucheta and mini rice balls.  All were very good.  For dinner there was a lovely salad with poached pear and panchetta. There was a choice of steak, chicken, salmon and a vegetarian option for the main dish. For dessert there was a chocolate fondue setup close to the bar and a selection of mini desserts at the tables. The event space looked amazing (the company did some of the table decor and the event space staff did the plates, cutlery etc). The staff was friendly and helpful. There was enough parking (Valet - I did get there on the earlier side, so not sure about people who got there on the later side). Would like to come back for another occassion to verify this initial opinion.“
