“First time I tried here was today. Passed by dozens of times throughout the years and decided to give it a go. Got the turkey club hero with American and coleslaw. Both sandwich and coleslaw were great! A little pricey (what isn't these days!) but if it wasn't so delicious I could have gotten two meals out of it. The sandwich was huge. Wish I would've taken a photo. The guys behind the counter were super nice and the wait time was minimal. Definitely will be back to try different sandwiches and salads. Glad to finally have found an "old-school" deli that makes sandwiches and salads like I remember from my childhood.“

“If you’re a college athletic team, this is the place for you. A phenomenal place to work with. I called early in the morning, they told me here’s the cutoff time to put all our orders in. I had a few late orders and they took them no problem. I rattled all the orders off to Connie and they were made with no mistakes and labeled.Not only did they make our order with no mistakes, they even held our food to keep fresh/hot when our bus broke down. “Never been here before but reviews were good. Ordered pickup, The salad case looked great. I asked for one of the prosciutto sandwiches and add eggplant cutlets. Which they obliged very nicely. I wish they had warmed the eggplant though because it was very cold. Also the ciabatta bread was very chewy and smelled a little musty, I checked for mold but didn't see anything, but the smell turned me off unfortunately. We've gotten pastries from here that were well received. Very clean and well presented establishment.“

“I am a former NY'er that came to visit family and do some college visits with my daughter. Stopped in to St. James Bagels on accident and I'm so glad I did. Had their breakfast bagel with eggs and bacon and it was absolutely delicious. Eggs were fluffy and the bacon was perfectly cooked. The people there are wonderful. In particular there was an older gentleman there (can't remember his name), who was so genuinely kind to me and my daughter and also very funny. My daughter absolutely loved the place, both the food and atmosphere. It is my go to place whenever I am back in NY to visit.“

It's over 45 minutes round trip but this is the only place that has the best salads I've tried other Delis. Just not the same. My family also had the chicken fajitas over rice and the East village sandwich. They both agreed their plates were good as well. The prices are reasonable and for that person below to complain about a $7 hero and bag of chips is ridiculous. This has got to be some type of competitor nearby talking smack about this restaurant. I don’t know if they are from out of town maybe they’re from the south where everything‘s cheap but $7 up here for a sub and a bag of chips is very inexpensive.
